"Gold (gold), always believe in your soul, you have the power to know, you're indestructible..." - the wise words of 1980s New Romantics band Spandau Ballet are made for nights like tonight.
Seven athletes will know they're indestructible by the time that Hampden Park closes for business in about four hours. Here's the track and field plan...
New Zealand 400m hurdler Zoe Ballantyne on Instagram:, external "Athletics New Zealand team photo here in the village!"
Maryam Usman claims gold for Nigeria in the women's over 75kg weightlifting with an overall score of 280kg beating reigning champion Ele Opeloge of Samoa into second place, with New Zealand's Tracey Lambrechs taking the bronze.
British Athletics:, external Hampden weather update - there's a swirling wind however 'that fine rain that soaks you through' is easing off.
Athletics events get under way from 18:30 BST.

"Lots of kissing and cuddling going on right now in the media mixed zone as Bristol-born Leon Rattigan, fresh from winning freestyle 97kg bronze for England, is greeted by his wife Yana.
"It's a completely different scene to 24 hours ago when Yana crumpled to the floor in tears after losing her freestyle 48kg gold medal match.
"Yana, wearing her England tracksuit, shouts words of encouragement to her husband during his match with Nigeria's Soso Tamarau. They will return to their Manchester home with a silver and bronze medal between them."
Solid start for Jack Laugher as he scores 67.50 with his first dive, putting him third behind fellow Englishman Chris Mears (71.30) and Australia's Grant Nel (72). Long way to go yet with five more dives to come.
Scotland 10,000m runner Beth Potter:, external "Massive shout out to Scottish Rail for making an announcement on the PA and completely embarrassing me and Kate Avery at Argyle St Station!"

"Switched from Glasgow to Edinburgh for diving and there's a great reception for the home nation divers as they come out for the pre-event presentation.
"The warm-ups are over and first up is the men's 1m final where England's Jack Laugher and former 10m Australian Olympic champion Matthew Mitcham are amongst the favourites. Chris Mears and Freddie Woodward dive for England whilst James Heatly is the sole Scottish representative."
England's Jack Laugher makes his bid for gold in the men's 1m springboard final over the course of the next hour. The Olympian dives last after a superb qualifying display this morning saw him qualify first.

"Absolutely buzzing in the weightlifting arena for the final stages of the women's +75kg. And it's Nigeria's Maryam Usman who hits the deck in elation, having seen defending champ Ele Opeloge spill her attempted 161kg clean and jerk, which would have been a new Commonwealth Games record.
Canada scoop up another gold medal as Arjun Gill edges India's Satyawart Kadian in 97kg wrestling. So close for Kadian, who had led heading into the second period but Gill snatched victory in the final few seconds.
GYMNASTICS: England's Max Whitlock wins individual all-around gold with Scotland's Daniel Keating taking silver and Englishman Nile Wilson bronze.
ATHLETICS: Defending champion Dai Greene fails to make the final of the 400m hurdles after he could only finish fifth in his heat.
ATHLETICS: Usain Bolt describes claims he made disparaging comments about the Commonwealth Games as "nonsense".
DIVING: England's Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow win silver in the women's synchronised 10m platform.
Welsh rhythmic gymnast Nikara Abbie:, external "Had my nails done at the village salon, absolutely love them."
Delight for Leon Rattigan, who missed out on competing at London 2012, as he wins bronze by beating Nigeria's Soso Tamarau 12-2 to add to the bronze the Manchester man won in Delhi four years' ago.
Leon's wife Yana leaps out from the crowd to hug her husband and it will be a happy Rattigan household now after she won silver yesterday.

"There's no doubt that Nicola Adams is one hell of a fighter. Lithe and lethal."

"They don't do the 1m springboard at the Olympics so it's great for the divers who specialise in this event. It's a strange event because you have to get as high as you can because there's not much time, or space, to get much action in before you hit the water. When they do it well it is very impressive."
And then there was one. Northern Ireland's Alanna Audley-Murphy is the last Home Nation hope still standing in the women's lightweight. The former World Championship quarter-finalist is guaranteed a bronze after beating Valerian Spicer, who is from the tiny Caribbean island of Dominica.
Wales' Charlene Jones loses to Laishram Devi of India, following England's Natasha Jonas - one of the pre-Games favourites - who sneaked out of the exit door on Tuesday.

"Some thought being put into the music inside the wrestling arena at the SECC precinct. Canada's Braxton Rei Stone wins her 58kg bronze medal match with Cameroon's Edwige Ngono Eyia and the voice of Canadian signer Bryan Adams comes roaring through the speakers.
"Rather predictably, Spandau Ballet's 'Gold' accompanies the medal ceremony which sees Nigeria's Odunayo Adekuoroye (pictured above) collect, yep, gold for winning the freestyle 53kg gold match.
"Will we hear the music of former Wigan band The Verve if Wigan and Leigh Wrestling Club's Sarah Grundy wins freestyle 58kg bronze?
"Sadly we will never know what they would have played if she had triumphed. Sarah misses out to New Zealand's Tayla Ford and leaves the arena with a white towel draped over her head."
England cyclist Lizzie Armitstead:, external "Last tough session pre-Glasgow completed, cannot compete in time trial due to stitches in my elbow, all set for Sunday's road race."
