Plenty of pride at stake as Scotland and Northern Ireland go toe-to-toe for fourth place in Pool A. So far it is advantage Scotland. They lead 21-18 at the halfway stage, but there's little to choose between the sides in truth.

Mixed fortunes for the Home Nations in the mixed doubles. Not for England mind - as Sam Walker and Karina Le Fevre, Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho, Danny Reed and Kelly Sibley, plus husband-and-wife team Paul Drinkhall and Joanna Drinkhall, all win to move into the last 16.

But there are defeats for the Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland pairings, which leaves only England left in the competition.

  6. Gold Medalpublished at 17:33 British Summer Time 30 July 2014

It is another gold in wrestling for Nigeria as Aminat Adeniyi beats Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik in the women's 58kg freestyle final.

That follows on from Odunayo Adekuroye's victory in women's 53kg freestyle a little earlier. The key to their success? Singing, it would seem. Both walked around the arena singing a Christian song at the top of their voices during their warm up routine and it appears to have done the trick.

England's Max Whitlock after winning gold in the men's all-around: "I wasn't paying much attention to the scores, I wanted to have clean routines and to have that comfortable margin at the end felt really good.

"I can't actually explain it, it's a crazy thing. Even before the routine I was so nervous and to stick the landing (on high bar, the final apparatus) like that was amazing."

On his transition to an all-around gymnast: "Since London 2012 all-around has been a massive target so to pull this off is massive for me. It's a big marker for the world championships; experience-wise and confidence-wise it gives me a big push."

Sounds like a school disco inside the SECC at the interval. All it needs is cheap pop and crisps as an overly-enthusiastic MC encourages the crowd, which is quite young admittedly, to get to their feet and do the Mexican Wave. Great scenes.

"How many 'Henry the Hoovers' (other vacuum cleaners are available) does it take to clean the apparatuses at the gymnastics? Three hoovers for the floor. One for the horse. Two to clean underneath the chairs near the high bar."

What a turn around from Scotland! They lead 11-9 at the end of the first quarter after some Braveheart fight overturns Northern Ireland's early advantage.

  11. Gold Medalpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 30 July 2014

Odunayo Adekuoroye gets the better of India's Lalita Lalita 5-0 to clinch the first gold medal of the day in the wrestling competition. The 20-year-old competed in Delhi in 2010 but lost to the Olympic and world champion in the first round. All her hard work since then has paid off.

Go on, admit it. You thought netball was still only played by schoolgirls wearing pleated skirts and baggy bibs, didn't you? Wrong. It is fast and furious and even though Scotland and Northern Ireland have nothing to play for, you wouldn't guess it by watching the action in the SECC.

Northern Ireland were leading 6-2 before the Scots, roared on by a vociferous, Saltire-waving crowd, level the game with four quick points. Check out the action here.

Scotland's Daniel Keatings after winning his gymnastics all around silver medal tells BBC Radio 5 live: "I was just happy to be here after the injury problems I've had. So to win a medal is a massive bonus. I was cheering on Max Whitlock because although I compete for Scotland and he competes for England we are still British athletes and we want each other to do well."

"You are 18. Your dreams of a bronze in your home Commonwealth Games have just been shattered. How do you get over it? Go see Tom Daley in action, of course.

"That's what Shannon Hawke plans to do after the Scottish teenager from Tullibody, a tiny town in Clackmannanshire, loses her freestyle 53kg bronze medal contest to South Africa's Mpho Madi.

"Shannon lists England diving star Daley as her hero, and in the mixed zone, she tells me: 'A few of my friends in the Games village have met him, but I've been locked away in competition. Maybe I'll get a chance to see him now."
