"A woman has just walked past the media benches at Glasgow's National Hockey Centre with a kangaroo key ring attached to her rucksack and she is wearing face paint, a scarf, shirt and sun visor all decked out Australia's colours. Oh, she's also wearing a huge smile after a result that was every bit as convincing as the scoreline suggests.

"Next up? England against New Zealand for the right to face Australia in Saturday night's final."

    Push-back is at 14:30 BST

South Africa do at least manage to become the first team to score a goal against Australia in five matches, but to be honest this was a mismatch. Australia guarantee themselves a medal and it would take a brave punter to bet against it being gold. But England and New Zealand will have other ideas, with their semi-final coming up at 14:30 BST.

"It was very difficult to see any way Mandy Bujold could have taken that round. Nicola Adams forced her to miss and caught her on the counter. A very good performance again from Adams."

Mandy Bujold comes on very strong, very late as she swings some massive shots in the final ten seconds. But that just plays into Nicola Adams' hands. The Englishwoman finishes with some snappy counters and she is through to the final courtesy of a clean sweep of the scorecards.

Walsh v Adams tomorrow afternoon at 14:00 BST. Cracking.

  13. Boxingpublished at 13:29 British Summer Time 1 August 2014

Two right hands from Nicola Adams snap Mandy Bujold's head back and the Canadian looks scrambled by both.

A convincing round for Adams who is ahead by a point on two judges' scorecards heading into the fourth and final round.

"Both boxers enjoying some success in that second round, it was certainly closer than the first. Nicola Adams needs to make use of her footwork, she has a wonderful little half step back and needs to force Mandy Bujold forward so she can then counter herself. In a very scrappy fight like this it is tough for the judges to choose between the two boxers."

Shouts of glee and high-fives on the usually sedate bowling greens of Kelvingrove as a magnificent hit on the jack by Scotland's Alex Marshall transforms a potential three for England into a three for Scotland. Not for nothing is the big man nicknamed 'the Lionel Messi of bowls'.

However, even Marshall is not infallible, and an unintentional nudge on the jack in the fourth end gives England the chance to hit back. They duly take as it a fine shot from Jamie Chestney allows them to pick up four. England lead 5-4 in the early stages of this contest.

Nicola Adams is having to chase Mandy Bujold, but the Canadian is catching her opponent with some surprise sudden rushes forward. Bujold lands a couple of meaty shots in amid a tangle of flailing arms and that is enough to take the round on a couple of scorecards.

Adams need to work out this awkward conundrum and quick.

  18. Boxingpublished at 13:23 British Summer Time 1 August 2014

Scrappy stuff from both fighters in the first round, not helped by a stoppage to adjust Nicola Adams' headguard. The English fighter put together the better combinations though and Mandy Bujold is too passive to make any claim to the round.

All three judges give the round to Adams and Bujold will have to up the aggression in the next three rounds.

Who will Michaela Walsh meet in the final tomorrow night?

It is likely to be Olympic champion Nicola Adams, but the Englishwoman has to see off the experienced Mandy Bujold to book her place.

Northern Ireland boxer Michaela Walsh, speaking to BBC Sport: "I knew it was a close fight, I felt she got the first round, she's a brilliant girl. She beat a five-time world champion so I knew it would be tough.

"But that pushed me on, I perform under pressure. I want to fight Nicola Adams in the final. Northern Ireland have got a great team and I hope everyone can perform. I believe we can get all nine into the final."
