England husband and wife pair Chris and Gabby Adcock progressed to the badminton mixed doubles semi-finals with victory over Australia today.

"Each round we have built on and got stronger throughout," Gabby added.

"It was obviously a huge match and the crowd was against us. We didn't want to give them a lead or get too close. We know how much the crowd can lift you and pull you through matches."

They won the match in straightforward manner, 21-10 21-14.

"Our plan was to bring our speed," Chris said. "We know that we are probably one of the quickest pairs in the world.

"So, if we do that, they will just have to react and deal with what we bring to them. We did that really well today."

Marshall's team-mate Paul Foster gives him a slap on the cheek. I think that was meant as a 'well done, son" kinda slap.
