Jack Laugher and Chris Mears have done it! They take the title with ease as they finish 21 points ahead of the field.

Laugher, from Leeds, makes it three golds on the Gold Coast, too. An incredible haul.

Canada take silver through Phillippe Gagne and Francois Imbeau-Dulac, and Dominic Bedggood and Matthew Carter of Australia earn bronze.

    Women's 100m hurdles final

There is one event to go in the Carrara Stadium this evening, one with home interest.

Alicia Barrett and Tiffany Porter, both of England, line up in the women's 100m hurdles final.

Porter won bronze at the 2013 World Championships, but a medal in this race would have to be won from the outside lane.

Is it good enough? It looks good enough.

Chris Mears and Jack Laugher dive for the final time and earn 83.22 and that should be enough for back-to-back golds. They have 436 points and I don't think anyone can catch the English Olympic champions.

An outstanding women's pole vault final is won by Canada's Alysha Newman.

New Zealand's Eliza McCarthy, who for so long looked nailed on for gold, is beaten on a night when the Games record was broken three times.

Newman's 4.74m is also a personal best and a national record.

England's Holly Bradshaw has to settle for fourth.

What a start from the Aussies!

Only 25 seconds on the clock and Trent Mitton turns and chops a reverse-stick shot through the legs of England goalkeeper George Pinner and against the backboards for the first goal.

It's his fifth of the tournament.

England had barely touched the ball.

Rachel Edwards from Suffolk (centre) and Sue and Doug Ansley - parents of England's women's defender Giselle Ansley - are keeping the flag of St George flying down by the beer tent.

Unfortunately the merest sniff of the white and red is like blood in the water for photo-bombing Aussies.

The home team have been warming up with a spot of skipping, ropes swishing through the air.

England have finally emerged onto the pitch are running shuttle-runs outside their dressing room t a playlist that included Fat Les' Vindaloo and Reef's Place Your Hands.
