    Men’s singles semi-final

The rocky tunes of Pink blast out after game three between Sam Walker and Gao Ning. It’s not going well for the Englishman in this singles semi-final as he’s now three games down in a best of seven affair.

He came back from way down in that third but lost out 13-11.

He blows on his fingers as he waits to return the ball. Blow some magic dust on them young man.

Australia are putting on a show for their home crowd and they're heading for a final match-up with England on Sunday.

New Zealand trail by 11 goals at half-time.

I'm not ruling out a second comeback of the day, but with the Silver Ferns' form, it would be unlikely.

    'I'm now the 51kg number one'published at 08:39 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

    Boxing

England's Lisa Whiteside claimed gold in the women's 51kg this morning.

Speaking to BBC Sport, she said: "I got a lovely shiner but it's worth taking for that gold medal. It's not even hurting but it just looks horrendous. It was a fantastic fight and I really enjoyed it today. It was a good tempo but I got some good shots in to win that unanimous decision."

Whiteside claims this win will help her come out of the shadow of fellow Brit Nicola Adams: "I have had to bide my time and in the past I've been world silver medalist but people weren’t aware because of Nicola Adams' achievements. Now it's about me and I've been able to show people what I'm all about. I'm now the 51kg number one and the dedication has paid off."

England’s Sam Walker is out there battling Singapore’s Gao Ning. Walker at 22 is 13 years the junior in this match-up.

At the Glasgow 2014 Games, Ning had a 41-shot rally with Nigeria's Segun Toriola that went viral such was its chaos.

No such lengthy exchanges in game one here as Ning takes it 11-5.

“I’ve just said to the girls that as a player I only dreamed to be in this situation but I was never good enough. It’s just great to live my dream through these. They have done so well.”
