Homophobia is massive in sport - Daley

English diver Tom Daley has called for more Commonwealth countries to decriminalise homosexuality.

Daley won his fourth Commonwealth Games gold medal as he and Dan Goodfellow won the synchronised 10m platform on the Gold Coast in Australia, where same-sex marriage was made legal in December.

Homosexuality remains illegal in 70% of the 53 Commonwealth countries.

"Coming to the Gold Coast and being able to live as an openly gay man is really important," said Daley, 23.

    Road cycling

Jersey's Kimberley Ashton is getting a little excited on this opening lap. The 30-year-old tries to break clear of the pack but is followed by Australia's Katrin Garfoot.

Garfoot is not going to try and help the breakaway effort though and just sits on Ashton's wheel, while the rest of the peloton catch up.

Undeterred, Ashton tries again. This time the peloton decide to let her have her fun. With 100km remaining she opens up a good 30-second advantage.

Women's road race under waypublished at 22:57 British Summer Time 13 April 2018

    Road cycling

There is an early start for the cyclists - specifically the women's road race - which has just got underway.

It's a 112.2km race of six laps around a circuit that starts and finishes on Currumbin Beachfront, before heading inland with just only one climb of any note on each lap.

There are 49 riders and Australia are the hot favourite with Katrin Garfoot, who won the time trial, in their squad.

Wales' Elinor Barker and Scotland's Katie Archibald, who have both won track golds at the Games, have switched to the road.

Hayley Simmonds is among the England squad, as is Mel Lowther, who was stopped from competing in the time trial because of an administrative error.
