There's movement on the England bench, the players are onto the bike.

England's starting seven have been incredible, but their legs are looking a little tired now.

Will Jade Clarke come on to win her 150th cap for England?

Australia, who were trailing by three, are now back within one goal. This is relentless.

Sevens started up in the Scottish Borders town of Melrose back in the 1880s. Safe to say that it wasn't in conditions like today.

The mercury is pushing thirty and Scotland are sweating their way to defeat against Australia in the fifth place play-off.

Safe to say the medical staff will have to guard their ice supplies pretty vigilantly.

Next up is England v Canada in the women's bronze medal match, followed by England v South Africa in the men's equivalent.

England are back out to three. Both of these sides are unbeaten on the Gold Coast, but it's England who are looking the calmer side at the moment.

Silver Medal - Lauren Smith & Sarah Walker (England)published at 04:57 British Summer Time 15 April 2018

    Badminton: Women's doubles gold-medal match

Lauren Smith and Sarah Walker can't fight back and take this gold-medal match into a decider. The English pair go down 21-12 21-12 to Malaysia's Vivian Hoo and Chow Mei Kuan.

That's two silver medals in one day for Smith. She's probably disappointed now but on reflection in a few days will be proud as punch.

"Aussie Aussie Aussie. Oi! Oi! Oi!" the Gold Coast crowd stretch their vocal cords for their boys.

David Palmer and Zak Alexander were 3-0 down in this decider to England's Daryl Selby and Adrian Waller, but they've turned it around.

Which way is it going to go? The noise inside the Oxenford Studios is incredible by the way.

You could see in the first half that England looked much more relaxed than before.

They just look like they're enjoying it - they've never been in this situation before, so this one is a bonus right now.

England were looking relaxed during that break. Helen Housby shoves what looks like a decongestant up her nose, she wants to feel clear in the second half.

The biggest half in England netball's history to come.

On court, Australia have made big changes. Caitlin Thwaites replaces Caitlin Bassett in the shooting circle as Stephanie Wood also comes into the attack.

And Jo Weston and Courtney Bruce are on in the defensive end.

No time for England's Lauren Smith to celebrate her squash mixed doubles silver medal just yet... she's got a women's doubles gold medal to fight for.

England's two-time Commonwealth Games medallist Tamsin Greenway on BBC 5 live:

We've got a game on our hands - every second one team has the chance to take the lead.

England certainly have Australia rattled and, if it stays like this, we could see England turn over the Aussies.

Tracey Neville has got to keep them calm - there's still 30 minutes to go and a lot can happen in that time.

David Palmer is trying his best to convince the umpire he should call a let after Aussie team-mate Zak Alexander whips a backhand into Adrian Waller. No chance.

That gives England a 9-3 lead and then they wrap up the game in a matter of seconds.

Palmer has lost his head. He's furious with himself, chucking his racket in a fit of anger as he marches off court.

They need to regroup in the next couple of minutes as the DJ presses play on The Clash classic 'London Calling'. That an omen for the English pair?

    Into a decider...

It's a much lower scoring game than we've seen from these two sides in this competition and that's been due to the defensive pressure.

You can't switch off at any point in the whole 60 minutes - if you miss a couple of passes here the whole game can blow away.

Would you believe it? England are holding Australia at half time.

Australia, the world number one side, are the overwhelming favourites for gold but they're the ones hanging on in this game.

England look far more composed, despite Jo Harten missing on the hooter. England could have had a one-goal half-time lead, but they go in all-square.

Ellis and Smith win mixed doubles silver

    Nick Hope
BBC Sport on the Gold Coast

Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith were only paired up last year to give England an extra option at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games but they’ve exceeded all expectations in their major international debut together.

The duo - who claimed mixed doubles silver - produced a real test for the established Adcock pairing today.

"We haven’t had much time together compared to other pairs out there but we work really well as a team," Smith tells me.

"Obviously I also have the women’s doubles event that I focus on but hopefully we can play more going forwards and challenge for that place at Tokyo 2020."
