Fiji scrum centre of the field. Threats either side. If they are going to get into this one, they need to create something...

There was a very brave cameraman who set up camp about a foot from the face of sin-binned Mesulame Kunavula to film his reaction on the sidelines.

The Fiji man is lucky to still be on the pitch. I'm sure some of the Kiwis would be pointing to the Sonny Bill Williams precedent from last summer's Lions tour.

Brilliant, try-saving tackle straight from the restart. Paula Dranisinkula looks for all the world to be through the New Zealand line, with only the whitewash to cross. Scott Curry, though, somehow gets him into touch.

Yellow card for Fiji's Mesulame Kunavula - that's two minutes in the bid.

He's lucky it's not more, because he's completely wiped out Sam Dickson with a shoulder to the face when the ball wasn't even in the same post code.

So, here we are, the 275th and last gold medal of the Commonwealth Games.

It’s safe to say the Aussie fans who have stayed on to watch are backing Fiji but there are genuine Fiji fans here too!

Fiji's defence is looking as resilient as a poppadom. A problem when you can't get out of your own half.

Regan Ware of New Zealand picks the ball up somewhere near halfway and skips through whiter shirts like they aren't there.

Hmmmm. Fiji might be Olympic champions, but they have an early warning as to the size of the task ahead of them.

New Zealand's Eten Nanai-Seturo crosses under the posts without the Fijians completing a pass.

There's just one gold left of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

After New Zealand won the women's sevens gold in extra-time, they're after the double.

Their male counterparts take on Olympic Champions Fiji in the men's final.

A try right at the death wins gold for New Zealand against Australia!

They couldn't be separated after normal time and it took six and a half minutes for the winning points to be scored. Kelly Brazier legs it almost the entire length of the pitch to score a try and win gold for her nation.

The Australians are heartbroken. Tears everywhere.

  20. What happened this morning?published at 06:22 British Summer Time 15 April 2018

    FT: Australia 51-52 England

If you're just waking up, how silly.

England played world number one side Australia in the gold medal match of the netball at 4am... and they won!

It was one of the most dramatic games of netball you'll ever see, and England took their first ever gold medal at a major tournament.

Here's what happened in the final 15 minutes...

    • England were four goals down in the final quarter
    • But they clawed it back and then went in front
    • England centre Serena Guthrie went off injured
    • Jade Clarke came on to win her 150th cap
    • Australia make it 51-51 with 20 seconds remaining
    • Jo Harten missed with FIVE seconds left, Helen Housby missed too.
    • But Housby got the penalty call and slotted the winner on the buzzer.
