Right, accompanying our Gold Coast musicians is the Restless Dance Theatre led by Michelle Ryan - no, not the former Eastenders star...

Ryan's outfit are one of Australia’s leading dance groups aiming to create "high quality real, raw and uninhibited dance theatre".

Their goal is to work with young people to collaboratively produce outstanding inclusive dance theatre informed by disability.

And Amy Shark is joined by Archie Roach, who is regarded as a powerful voice for Indigenous Australians and one of the country’s greatest storytellers.

Amy, Archie, the Voices of Birralee and the Yugambeh Youth Choir are now combining to bring the audience a musical concoction that's almost as sweet on the ears as the final buzzer felt for England's netballers after their last-second winner against Australia earlier.

Here's Amy Shark, aptly named for her ferocious assault on the top of the Aussie charts after a breakthrough single that went four times platinum and has garnered more than 30 million online views.

Gold Coast born and bred, Games organisers describe her as a "creatively complex girl next door" - sounds like a Busted B-side.

Amy is singing Let Love Shine and, I think it's fair to say, pretty much smashing.

It's got me spinning around like Simon Cowell so much on my judge's chair that my talent show analogies have got all confused...

The young lad welcoming viewers around the world to the Carrara Stadium is Max Deffenti.

Now, Max has earned his moment in the spotlight from generally being an all-round winner.

Not only does he have more hobbies than most countries won medals - he surfs, skis, skates and is a keen fisherman - the 12-year-old also speaks, in addition to his native English, Portuguese, Mandarin, Italian and French.

Phew, and there's me struggling with one...

Anyway, after doing a stint presenting the weather on Australian radio last year, he's landed the Commonwealth Closing Ceremony gig.

A budding presenter in the making.

And so here it is, 11 days after a rain-drenched opening ceremony, it's time to close the curtain on the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Twenty-nine countries savoured the taste of golden success, with some 275 gold medals up for grabs over the past week-and-a-half.

Dreams have been realised and tears shed, while there has been more drama than an evening with Kylie and Jason on Ramsay Street.

But, after all the excitement, Mayor of Gold Coast Tom Tate has perhaps perfectly wrapped it up in one typically Aussie quote...

"I think we just nailed it."

The Mayor of Gold Coast, Tom Tate, has expressed his delight at the outcome of the Games and believes more investment will come to the area after the success of 2018.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Tate said: "It has been a very proud moment for us as a city and we have put together a very credible games.

    "I think we nailed it."

Asked about the future plans for the Gold Coast, Tate said: "We will be bidding for other major world events like the World Athletics Championships in 2025 and so many of our training facilities will be used for visiting international teams.

"I think it has been money well spent because people now know we have the infrastructure in place.

If you want sunshine and to make money, then Gold Coast is the place."

Talking about Australia's success in the medal table, he said: "I remember when I was in Glasgow the boot was on the other foot but all the athletes put their heart into it and they've trained hard."

On the BBC News Channel, the England netball team have just threatened to throw Mike Bushell (he who fell into a pool when trying to interview swimmers) into the sea.

Mike had a lucky escape, though. They bottled it at the edge of the water...

England goalkeeper Geve Mentor, who was appearing at her fifth Commonwealth Games, told BBC Sport: “This is so special. I’ve been at it for a long time now, and to do it with these girls, they inspire me and I feel like a spring chicken around them.

“This has been a lifelong dream, I can’t wait to bring netball back to England next year for the World Cup.

“We’ve had talented girls over the years, but what has changed is the belief and confidence we’ve had.

“That’s what really excites me about this group of girls, and I hope we can stay together for as long as possible.”

Now, we know that England netball coach Tracey Neville comes from a sporting family.

And Tracey, the sister of footballers Gary and Phil, compared the drama of her team's victory to when Manchester United won the Champions League in 1999.

"I remember the treble in Barcelona when they put that goal in," she said. "I was on tour at the time and I was screaming in a room at 4am.

"Everyone says what does it mean to the Neville family. We just live, eat and breathe sport. We support each other 100 per cent."

If you cast your mind back to yesterday, England needed to score in the final second in order to beat Jamaica in the semi-final.

Today, they had to do exactly the same to beat the hosts in the final.

"There was limited sleep last night so it's really impressive we managed to turn the happiness of yesterday around," said England captain Ama Agbeze.

"I think Australia have felt under pressure this whole tournament. I had confidence after coming from six down against Jamaica and we felt comfortable."
