  1. wicket

WICKET: Davey b Harrison 45published at 14:06 British Summer Time 20 April

    Somerset 218-5 v Notts 193

Notts turn to spin and it works immediately as Calvin Harrison bowls Josh Davey through the gate with his second ball of the day.

Somerset's lead is 25 runs and they have five wickets in hand so this afternoon session could go a long way to deciding how this match plays out.

  2. 'That is agonising for Sam Cook'published at 14:03 British Summer Time 20 April

    Essex 190-2 v Lancashire 146

    Glenn Speller
    BBC Essex sport

OH NO! That is agonising for Sam Cook, he has got himself to lunch 49 not out, one short of a maiden first class half century and to the very first ball after the interval he edges George Balderson to Keaton Jennings at first slip who makes no mistake.

Cook’s highest first-class score and the job he has done for his team will be applauded but even though it is about the team I am sure he may agonise over missing out on that single run and a personal landmark.

  3. Postpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 20 April

    Somerset 217-4 v Notts 193

Good work from Tom Banton who hits three consecutive fours off Luke Fletcher to get the scoreboard ticking after lunch.

He's up to 34 now - ten behind team mate Josh Davey - and their partnership is close to 50.

  4. 50 runs

for Josh de Cairespublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 20 April

    Middx 232-8 v Yorks 159

Josh de Caires clips spinner Dan Moriarty away for two and that is his second first-class century. It has taken him 64 balls, and included eight fours, and it's been an invaluable knock after he came in with Middlesex on 135-6.

He has so far added 40 for the ninth wicket with Tom Helm, who has 14.

  5. Postpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 20 April

    Kent 197-6 v Surrey

Certainly no chance of George Garrett being 'done in the flight' at Canterbury - Surrey leggie Cameron Steel is hurrying the ball on without giving it much air. Just a couple of singles from his fifth over.

  6. wicket

WICKET Cook c Jennings b Balderson 49published at 13:53 British Summer Time 20 April

    Essex 182-2 v Lancashire 146

    Oh Sam!

Sam Cook had been to lunch on 49, one short of a maiden first-class half century and when George Balderson offers a little width to the first ball after lunch, Cook is tempted.

But the ball ends in the hands of Keaton Jennings at first slip and Cook drops to his haunches.

No 50, but the night-watchman has done a super job for Essex.

  7. wicket

WICKET Finch c Sibley b Clark 9published at 13:47 British Summer Time 20 April

    Kent 195-6 v Surrey

Great start to the afternoon for Surrey as Harry Finch pushes forward but edges to first slip where Dom Sibley drops to his knees to take a good, low catch.

George Garrett survives on 44 not out and has now been joined by Joey Evison, preferred to Jaydn Denly for this match.

  8. Postpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 20 April

    Kent 192-5 v Surrey

Back out after lunch at Canterbury and Cameron Steel has the ball in hand. Harry Finch collects a single to hand the strike to man-of-the-morning George Garrett.

How will the Kent nightwatcher cope with the break in concentration, having been there since yesterday's final session?

  9. Postpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 20 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 442-9

No team hat-trick as James Fuller is wide of Oliver Hannon-Dalby's off-stump and OHD lets it go past.

  10. wicket

WICKET Burgess b Fuller 18published at 13:42 British Summer Time 20 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 442-9

I want some of what James Fuller had for lunch!

The first ball of the session and he knocks over Michael Burgess' middle stump.

Hampshire have taken two wickets in two balls. They are on a team hat-trick...

  11. 'Real fight at the end from Worcestershire'published at 13:35 British Summer Time 20 April

    Lunch: Worcs 184 v Durham 244 – Worcs trail by 60 runs

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Hereford & Worcester

It's been a tough for Worcestershire but they showed some real fight at the end.

Smith was undefeated on 33, Finch with a handy contribution of 18 but it was that period when they lost five rapidly this morning from the time that Ben Raine broke through to taking the wicket of Jason Holder and it became difficult for Worcestershire.

Adam Finch's resistance is broken as Matthew Potts traps him lbw and with that the Pears' innings comes to an end.

The last-wicket partnership between Finch and Nathan Smith was worth 29 and means Worcestershire trail by 60.

It had looked like being a somewhat larger deficit earlier this morning.

Lunch is being taken and Durham will begin their second innings when we return.

  13. 'Great for Essex. Tough for Lancashire'published at 13:26 British Summer Time 20 April

    Lunch: Essex 182-1 v Lancashire 146

    Glenn Speller
    BBC Essex sport

Great for Essex. Tough for Lancashire.

The first target for the visitors this morning would have been to remove nightwatchman Sam Cook. They should have done it in the first over but George Bell dropped him at third slip and then repeated the feat later in the innings.

Cook is one short of a maiden first-class half-century while at the other end Dean Elgar has very quietly gone to 76 not out from 112 balls with back-to-back tons very much in his sights after making three figures against Kent last week.

The Lancashire attack has toiled. Nathan Lyon has been tried from both ends but without success and they are being backed into a corner here by the Championship leaders.

    Northants 32-1 v Glamorgan 271

A bonus wicket for Glamorgan in the final 10 overs of the morning session as Northants opener Emilio Gay falls lbw to James Harris.

The Welsh county added 68 to their overnight 203-7, with Colin Ingram finally out for 82 and Mason Crane contributing a career-best 61 - his first half century.

Ben Sanderson picked up a five-for for Northants, for whom Ricardo Vasconcelos is 10 not out at lunch, with Luke Procter on six.

  16. Lunch at Derbypublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 20 April

    Derbys v Leics 309-3

Peter Handscomb dabs spinner Alex Thomson past first slip for four to reach his 50 off 75 balls in the final few moments of an excellent morning for Leicestershire.

They have added 141 for the loss of Lewis Hill, with Marcus Harris batting through the session to reach 153 not out and share an unbroken stand of 125 with fellow Aussie Handscomb.

They have two batting points in the bag and another 32 overs to add one or two more.

  17. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:17 British Summer Time 20 April

    Essex 182-1 v Lancashire 146

Tom Bailey is too straight off the final ball of the session but that is a gift for a player of Dean Elgar's class.

Those four runs make it 10 off the last over and 114 runs in the morning without losing a wicket as Elgar has moved effortlessly to 76.

At the other end, he has been excellently supported by night-watchman Sam Cook.

He will resume this afternoon on 49, one short of a maiden first-class 50.

Lancashire have it all to do.

  18. Lunch at Lord'spublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 20 April

    Middx 212-8 v Yorks 159

Josh de CairesImage source, Rex Features

Yorkshire's morning, perhaps, but Middlesex go into lunch with a handy 53-run lead, with Josh de Caires 35 not out.

The all-rounder flays George Hill through the covers for four, having shared a 56-run partnership for the eight-wicket with Toby Roland-Jones (30).

Yorkshire earlier took five wickets for 39 runs, with Jordan Thmpson (4-68) and Ben Coad (3-49) the pick of their attack.

  19. 'Cricket for the purist'published at 13:13 British Summer Time 20 April

    Lunch: Somerset 194-4 v Notts 193

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Cricket for the purist, Somerset have looked to grind out a lead, whilst Notts have operated under the confines of a below-par first innings score.

The outcome has resulted in a shared morning session of 78 runs and three wickets but the hosts are now in a position to push on and make the most of the best batting conditions of the day.

Luke Fletcher’s early dismissal of Sean Dickson set the tempo for the first hour and when Brett Hutton and Lyndon James entered the fray, they both struck further blows.

Nightwatchman Josh Davey remained defiant throughout and is within six of a well-deserved half-century.

    Worcs 175-9 v Durham 244

The players will have to wait for their lunch as we're taking the extra half hour in Kidderminster with Durham needing one wicket.

Adam Finch sends Ben Raine to the boundary as the Pears man, in partnership with Nathan Smith, are putting together some useful late runs.

    They trail by 65.
