Where do Ireland go from here? Dockrell is off, Cusack back on and the boundary fielders are moved around - but he's not bowling to his field, as Anwar smacks a full toss back over the bowler's head, and cracks an attempted bouncer through mid-wicket for four more. You can't really bowl those in the "slog" overs at Cusack's pace. The score is Richie Benaud for six.

"Ireland should watch how Javed has played this, working the ball to the leg side and playing for twos. You can't get boundaries the whole time, but you need to play the conditions."

After Mooney took a bit of punishment last over, captain William Porterfield throws the ball to Max Sorensen, but it's more of the same from the UAE as Javed and Anwar now have the confidence to take on the pace bowlers, clubbing boundaries and taking singles at will.
And after all the headband chat we've had today, Sorensen is stopped mid-over by the umpire and asked to remove the white protective grips he's wearing on his elbows. Presumably the batsman wasn't happy. Sadly for Ireland, it doesn't produce the same effect as when Dean Jones asked Curtly Ambrose to remove his sweatbands..., external

"It's always the case that the other side fights backs, and that is what is happening now. That last ball from George Dockrell was poor - you need to be a little bit smarter than that to finish the over off. The momentum is with the UAE."
Anwar whacks Dockrell for a couple of fours to bring up the 200 - this stand is worth 69, and the innings is threatening to run away from Ireland a little.

"Good skills from Mooney, taking the pace off the ball, as Anwar is looking to run the ball down to third man."

Shaiman Anwar reaches his third ODI fifty from 51 balls, guiding the recalled John Mooney for two through mid-wicket, and celebrates with a huge grin, lifting both arms above his head. Meanwhile, the lanky Amjad Javed helps himself to another flicked four over short fine leg and now has 31 - his highest ODI score. Mooney even gets no-balled for bowling a third bouncer above head height.
I'm sorry to report that Mooney has taken his headband off, he was bowling a lot tighter when he had it on...

"There has been a 10-over spell by an off-spinner on each of the last four days of this World Cup: India's Ravichandran Ashwin, England's Moeen Ali, Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza and Ireland's Paul Stirling today."
UAE 178-6 (40 overs) after winning toss
Batsmen: Shaiman Anwar 48*, Amjad Javed 26*
Fall of wickets: 49-1 (Berenger 13), 53-2 (Chandran 0), 73-3 (Amjad 45), 78-4 (Patil 2), 125-5 (Khurram 36), 131-6 (Mustafa 2)
Bowling figures: Mooney 5-0-18-0, Sorensen 6-0-33-0, Cusack 8-0-35-1, Stirling 10-0-27-2, K O'Brien 5-0-34-2, Dockrell 6-0-31-1
Paul Stirling's 2-27 from 10 overs is looking better and better as this innings goes on - Dockrell is entrusted with the final powerplay over, and Anwar and Javed both find lots of gaps around the vast expanse of the Gabba outfield before Anwar launches a huge six - measured at 87m - up into the stands at cow corner, taking the ball from outside off stump. The last ball is a full toss - but Anwar can only pat it straight back to the bowler. 10 overs to go - what do you think would be a competitive score?

"This is good batting - just getting the total up there. If they get 200, 230, 240, they're well and truly in the game."

Ireland turn back to Kevin O'Brien - can the golden arm plunder another wicket? Not if he bowls like this - a half-tracker is bludgeoned for four towards cow corner by Anwar, while a wristy flick over short fine leg brings Javed a boundary. O'Brien polishes the ball furiously and wipes his forehead on his sleeves, but Javed slaps another four over the covers. 16 off the over... not what Ireland wanted.
David Anderson: Surely Pat Cash has to be up there somewhere?
Dockrell, with the look of a young Tim Henman about him, spins down his fifth over - Javed brings the UAE to the 150 mark, but Anwar is kept down at the striker's end by four dot balls before he forces a single to long-on.
Conor Whelan:, external Regarding Khurram's lbw wicket, Graeme Swann wouldn't be saying any of that if he was the bowler!
Javed, who has some long levers on him, drills Cusack for a couple of twos, before swatting a four through point. On this evidence, it's surprising that he didn't come in until after the nervous-looking Mustafa. The last ball of the over is swiped through the covers, will that be four more? No, Dockrell just pushed it back in time, turning four into three.
Michael Gale: Does this count?
Umpire Michael Gough signals the batting powerplay but Ireland are going to stick with spinner George Dockrell at the Vulture Street End. Javed is off the mark with a single, while Anwar pulls a four through mid-wicket which is heartily cheered by some UAE fans in traditional dress.
