I reckon Afghanistan's bowling attack, given the right conditions, could cause England some problems in their final group game. I can see the headlines now, and they ain't pretty. Shapoor, with a packed off-side field, is bowling to his field perfectly. He appeals unsuccessfully for a strangle down the leg side against the new batsman Majid Haq.

"Hassan got as much pleasure taking that catch as he would taking a wicket for himself. It looks bleak for Scotland at the moment. Afghanistan kept the pressure on and Davey was getting submerged. Afghanistan are not letting go while there have been some rash shots."

Afghanistan are bringing a lot of quality and character to this tournament. Hamid Hassan celebrates catching Josh Davey low down at mid-off by doing a commando roll, then he puts both arms in the air to soak up the acclaim of team-mates while still sat on the ground. That's how you celebrate. Scotland sinking without trace.

"Afghanistan haven't let the pressure off. I like Nabi, he's a lovely off-spinner, totally in control of what he's doing and also in control of the batsmen. He's only had one wicket but nearly had another in the previous over."

  5. Sco 134-6 (run-rate 4.19)published at 00:19 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2015

Just two from the over. Scotland are chugging like a clapped out motor at the moment.

  6. Not outpublished at 00:18 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2015

A close shave for Scotland as Afghanistan review a potential caught behind against Richie Berrington. Nabi is the bowler and replays show there is no edge, but is it lbw? It's umpire's call so the not out decision is upheld.

  7. England women updatepublished at 00:15 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2015

Seamer Kate Cross has finished her 10 overs with the impressive figures of 5-24 to restrict New Zealand to 100-8 from 33 overs in the fourth one-day international in Lincoln. Left-arm spinner Rebecca Grundy, playing in her third ODI, has also bowled well, taking 3-20 from six overs.

England, 2-1 down in the five-match series, will have high hopes of levelling the series now.

  8. Sco 132-6 (Shapoor 5-0-15-1)published at 00:14 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2015

Josh Davey is the new man to the crease, and now would be a good time for the 24-year-old to add to his two ODI half-centuries.

"Afghanistan have a wide slip and he would never have got his hands to it so the wicketkeeper had to go and that's a very good catch and good reward for Afghanistan. That's another example of a batsman pushing at the ball and not getting forward enough to the pitch. And now Scotland have to rebuild again."

Scotland just can't kick on once they form a partnership. Not for the first time today, a promising fightback is ended. This time left-arm seamer Shapoor, bowling round the wicket, digs one in short and the ball leaves Matt Cross who fences at it and Zazai takes a superb diving catch to his right.

  12. Sco 130-5 (partnership: 35 runs)published at 00:07 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2015

The steady din of drums is the backing track to this morning's play. Where are the bagpipes? Nabi continues to give nothing away - rather like my Dad when he's at the bar. Five from the over.

  13. Sco 125-5 (Cross 14, Berrington 13)published at 00:03 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2015

The gentle, but nagging, medium pace from Naib continues to pose a threat to the Scottish batsmen. He is being backed up by some energetic close fielding. Richie Berrington, with seven ODI half-centuries to his name, gives a short, wide one the treatment when he carves four past backward point.

  14. Sco 117-5 (extras: 14)published at 00:00 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2015

In the grounds of this compact stadium, there's a game of Kwik Cricket going on between a handful of youngsters. Plastic bat, ball and stumps... brings back memories. Scotland benefit from five wides when Nabi strays down leg. An unexpected bonus.

  15. Sco 108-5 (Hassan 6-1-20-1)published at 23:57 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2015

Hamid Hassan bowls a toe-crushing yorker which Matt Cross does well to dig out. There's still a slip in place, with the boys in light blue knowing they are one wicket away from exposing the Scotland tail. Again, Rambo sends in a timber-seeking yorker which Richie Berrington jabs down on. Just one run from the over.

Between overs, Hippy Hippy Shakes is belted out over the PA system. In the middle, Scotland's struggles go on as they manage just the three singles from off-spinner Nabi's fifth over. The skipper now has 1-14 from five - miserly.

  18. Sco 104-5 (run-rate 4.16)published at 23:51 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2015

Afghanistan go in for the kill and bring back Rambo. Hamid Hassan has an impressive ODI record, with 51 wickets at 19 coming into this match. You don't see many better numbers than that. His first delivery is too full and Matt Cross drives him to the boundary, but he soon slips into a groove. He has natural pace and gets one to angle back in to Cross and whistle past the outside edge.

  19. Postpublished at 23:51 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2015

    Warren Lees
Ex-New Zealand wicketkeeper on BBC Test Match Special

"The moving ball away from the bat has gone past the outside bat too often and the batsmen have been too crease-bound. The pace of the pitch has perhaps taken them by surprise and there have not been many drives down the wicket."

  20. Sco 99-5 (Berrington 3, Cross 3)published at 23:47 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2015

Mohammad Nabi is a tall off-spinner with a confident aura about him. He is racing through his overs, putting more pressure on the rebuilding Scots. Three from the over.
