"Welcome to Dunedin, the most southern city in New Zealand and about as far away from the UK you can get to without venturing to the middle of the Pacific. We're are also in Little Scotland - a city named after the Gaelic word for Edinburgh.

"As you wander through the Saltires, you browse the 'Scotland Shop', buy an oatcake (the Scottish, not Staffordshire kind) and drink in the Robbie Burns Pub. The weather, however, is slightly warmer than north of Hadrian's Wall, though I did overhear a member of the TV crew saying it was -1 first thing this morning."

I want us to coast through tonight on a wave of social media frivolity. When you've hit on something, let us know - #bbccricket on Twitter,, external send a text to 81111 or email tms@bbc.co.uk. Be sure to tell us your name, so we can credit your input. Lovely.

If you're a cricket nut, student or just living in a more conducive time zone... let me remind you we've got two World Cup matches tonight. From 03:30 GMT, Sri Lanka will lock horns with Bangladesh. If the Tigers win that one, it will be panic stations for England.

We will also bring your updates from Lincoln. The New Zealand town, not the English city, where England Women take on the Kiwis in the fourth one-day international. With two games to go, the hosts are leading the series 2-1.

England have won the toss and will bowl first.

Let's be honest... all cricket live texts are richer for an early picture of Lionel Richie. Now, let me tell you about the toss. Afghanistan won it and will bowl first, captain Mohammad Nabi citing the seam-bowling friendly wicket as the reason why.

To dig up a line from Charles and Eddie in the nineties..., external Would I lie to you?

Of course not. So, I'm not going to bill Scotland v Afghanistan as the big one.

It doesn't have the glitz of football's Champions League, nor the glamour of the Brit Awards. England v Australia it ain't, Pakistan v India it isn't.

But do you know what... this match matters to these two associate cricket nations. And as we've seen already in this tournament, they have plenty of decent players to set up an intriguing contest.

Would I lie to you? No. So believe me when I say this could turn into a little belter of a match.
