It was a mixed bag from Corey Anderson. He hits it straight to mid on where Cummins took a low catch. Anderson waits on the field as he thinks the ball may have hit the ground before Cummins grabbed it.

  2. NZ 130-4 (Williamson 33, Anderson 26)published at 06:05 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

It is a capacity crowd in Auckland, and the majority of fans will be going home very happy.

New Zealand have only won two of the last nine completed matches against Australia, so do not have the chance to celebrate victory over their neighbours too often. But, unless we see something incredible, they have been far superior.

With the last ball of the over there is an umpire review as Mitchell Starc's delivery hits Corey Anderson. but after a review, the batsman stays.

Ex-Australia captain on BBC Test Match Special

"They're on cruise control now. Mitchell Starc was bowling well before the interval, but Williamson doesn't look in any trouble. Anderson was a bit scratchy early on but he's got through that. It looks like Starc's going to bowl all his 10 overs because if anything's going to happen, it's going to happen at his end."

  4. NZ 129-4 (target 152)published at 05:59 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

New Zealand are back in control and there seems to be no way back now for the Australians. Kane Williamson hammers a shot wide of midwicket for four, before he waits and perfectly times a lofted shot over covers for another boundary. Eleven more from that over.

Australia need some inspiration. And they need it right now.

  5. NZ 118-4 (Johnson 0-68, Cummins 1-26)published at 05:55 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

It has been a nightmare day so far for Mitchell Johnson, with 68 runs coming off his first five overs. At least he is spared more punishment in his sixth, as he bowls a maiden over.

"When you reflect on this game, you think of Trent Boult's five-for, but Daniel Vettori played a huge part. McCullum only used three bowlers for the first 28 overs, it's very seldom you see that."

  7. NZ 118-4 (target 152)published at 05:51 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

New Zealand look to have recovered from their sticky patch that saw them lose three wickets for one run.

Kane Williamson drives for four over short cover, with a single, two and three then coming for a total of 10 off the over.

New Zealand have never reached a World Cup final, losing in the semi-finals on six occasions. Well, if they finish the job here they will have beaten Sri Lanka, Scotland, England and Australia with matches against Afghanistan and Bangladesh still to come before the knockout phase.

With their performances so far in this tournament, you would be a brave man betting against them making the World Cup final for the first time ever.

  9. NZ 108-4 (Williamson 16, Anderson 21)published at 05:46 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

Corey Anderson has looked very unconvincing, but scores 14 off the first three balls of the over. He gets lucky with the second boundary, a four, as his inside edge narrowly avoids his own stumps.

But there is no doubting a 70-metre six. It was a short ball, that he saw coming and he launched it over the midwicket boundary. Sixteen in total from the over. Any pressure that was building is instantly relieved.

  10. NZ 92-4 (target 152)published at 05:42 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

A sliding David Warner stops a four as New Zealand aim to get one of those massive boundaries. That is the only scoring shot of the over as Williamson times it well to place it between point and cover point. But Warner does well to save two runs. You never know, it may well be crucial later on.

  12. NZ 90-4 (Starc 3-24, Cummins 1-14)published at 05:36 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

Mitchell Starc has been excellent so far for Australia, taking three wickets, but his radar is a bit off at the start of the over with a wide. However, he soon gets back on track.

He forces an awful-looking slog attempt from Corey Anderson. The kind you will see up and down the country in club matches over the weekend. Williamson needs to have a word in the ear of his team-mate and tell him not to be so rash. No need to panic.

Orson in Bristol: I was not planning on getting any sleep before work, so I have to say thank you to Australia as I will now be able to get a couple of hours in. Maybe more if NZ get the job soon.

  16. NZ 83-4 (target 152)published at 05:29 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

A beast of an over from Mitchell Starc, who twice gets the New Zealand batsmen playing and missing. Corey Anderson is struggling at the moment, although a flick through midwicket gets a huge cheer from the home crowd at Eden Park.

The run rate is no concern at all to the hosts. They just need to keep their composure and they will win this.

  17. NZ 81-4 (target 152)published at 05:24 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

It is so nearly another wicket for Australia. The ball catches Corey Anderson by surprise, flying off the shoulder of the bat. Luckily for him, the ball drops between the slips and third man to safety. One run off the over.

  19. NZ 80-4 (target 152)published at 05:23 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

Earlier on we saw Brendon McCullum blast a thrilling 50 off 24 deliveries. But during his innings he also took a nasty knock when he was hit by a short ball from Mitchell Johnson, which caught him on an unprotected area of the arm. Time for a McCullum update.

We saw Australia collapse from 80-1 to 106-9 earlier on, and now we have seen New Zealand fall from 78-1 to 79-4. New batsman Corey Anderson nudges their score to 80-4.
