"What it does mean is that if the Kiwis do meet the Aussies in the semi-finals, it will be at home. It's a very strange scorecard - look at those bowling figures with Mitchell Johnson 6-1-68-0, and Mitchell Starc 9-0-28-6.

"Almost as exciting as the Afghanistan-Scotland game the other day. And let's not forget, it wins New Zealand the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy. Trent Boult is man of the match - bad luck Mitchell Starc."

  2. NZ 152-9 bt Aus 151 by one wicketpublished at 06:36 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

So Kane Williamson is the hero for New Zealand. His 45 off 42 balls sees the hosts home. But only just. Five of the New Zealand players were dismissed for nought, one or two.

"What a way to finish it - Kane Williamson, the only cool Kiwi out there, he knew the geography of Eden Park with the short straight boundaries. But the Aussies have got a lot out of that game, despite the batting collapse. Williamson is being clapped off by the Aussie players. An extraordinary game on a belting wicket - and 152 beats 151."

  4. NEW ZEALAND WIN BY ONE WICKETpublished at 06:31 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

Kane Williamson provides that moment of magic. The first ball of Pat Cummins's over is launched back over his head for six.

Incredible scenes in Auckland. New Zealand have rescued the game after they looked to have thrown it all away.

Trent Boult survives the over. New Zealand need six. Australia need one wicket. One moment of magic either way could win it.

"Trent Boult, who thought his wickets had won the game for New Zealand, is going to have to win it with the bat."

The hat-trick is avoided. The number 11 Trent Boult survives. He has to do the same for the next ball.

"It's difficult to hit a fast yorker like that first ball, but it's a delivery Southee ought to have been expecting. Boult's a left-arm bowler too, he must know what's coming. It's got to be a yorker first ball, unless it's a double bluff."

  9. WICKETpublished at 06:26 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

One more to go. This may well be the most incredible, most nuts, most insane match in World Cup history. Mitchell Starc on a hat-trick. Australia on course for a victory.

"That's a brilliant ball. A fast yorker delivered from a huge height by Starc, a beautiful length, and Williamson may now be wondering about the wisdom of taking that single. It brings in Southee, who's more of a hitter than a blocker. Five to tie, six to win."

  11. WICKETpublished at 06:25 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

I'm rubbing my eyes with disbelief here. Not just because it is 6.25 in the morning. This is incredible. Australia looked completely finished. Yet they need two more deliveries to snatch what looked an impossible victory. Adam Milne bowled.

  12. NZ 145-7published at 06:24 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

How is your nerve New Zealand? Australia will be talking about this victory for ever if they can pull this off. Today's moral of the story. Never write off Australia. Ever.

"The notion of playing for the bloke at the other end has long since disappeared. Williamson is sitting there at the other end like Shenwari was in the Afghanistan-Scotland game the other day. You'd have got good odds on a tie earlier, but it's six to tie and seven to win - and I don't think Milne is the best number nine out there."

  14. WICKETpublished at 06:20 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

Surely they can't throw it away from here. This is incredible. And another New Zealand player trudges off the pitch. A full toss from Cummins sees Vettori pick out David Warner. The hosts need seven more. Adam Milne is in.

I bet no one expected this even 20 minutes ago,

  15. NZ 143-6 (target 152)published at 06:18 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

We are down to single figures now for New Zealand. They have four wickets left and need nine runs.

  16. WICKETpublished at 06:16 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

A cracking delivery. He tries to get out of the way, but the ball clips the gloves of Luke Ronchi and he is caught behind. New Zealand only need 13 to win it, but they are giving their fans some nervous moments.

  17. Tosspublished at 06:11 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

UAE captain Mohammad Tauqir calls tails and registers an early victory. His team are going to have a bat.

UAE are unchanged from the team that lost by two wickets to Ireland three days ago. The big team news for India is the absence of Mohammed Shami through a knee injury. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is his replacement in the Indian bowling attack.

  18. India v UAEpublished at 06:10 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

Once the game in Auckland is wrapped up, we will be switching attention to events in Perth, where the unbeaten India are taking on the winless UAE.

The smart money is on a convincing win for the defending champions, who have hammered Pakistan and South Africa so far in the tournament. The UAE have posted two 250+ totals so far but against teams (Zimbabwe and Ireland) far less skilled than today's opponents and both in vain.

  19. NZ 137-5 (target 152)published at 06:09 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

It took a while to be certain. But, yes, Corey Anderson is out. Wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi is next man in. And smashes a six straight away, over the long on boundary.

"Maxwell comes on and it does the trick - it always looked as though Anderson was going to take the bowler on. He didn't really need to, but it's the way he plays."
