UAE are struggling to cope with what is a quick, bouncy wicket. It is a good track, but the Indian bowlers are a cut above what the associate nation have faced so far in the tournament. Kumar flies in again and Khurram and Karate survive, while adding three to the total. Here are the teams for today's game...
Terry Alderman
Ex-Australia seam bowler on BBC Test Match Special
"This is not the start that UAE wanted, winning the toss and electing to have a bat.
"It's looks a very good wicket, a really fast outfield. A little push normally goes for four."
Listen to TMS commentary on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra via the "Live Coverage" tab.
Cheers Michael. Top effort sir. Well, how do you follow that?! I'll tell you how; India v UAE! No? Fine, so it doesn't quite resonate in the same way, but so far it is doing its best to provide the requisite entertainment.
UAE bravely opted to bat (they had no choice but to try and set their superior opponents a score) but ominously they have already lost a couple of wickets. Openers Amjad Ali and Andri Berenger have both gone for four, caught behind by MS Dhoni off the bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav respectively. Krishna Chandran (going under his mother's maiden name of Karate) and Khurram Khan are the men looking to consolidate at the crease...
Well, what an incredible, amazing, wonderful match that was. New Zealand just about did enough as Kane Williamson kept his composure as his team-mates crumbled around him.
That gives New Zealand four wins out of four, while Australia, four-time World Cup winners, have now won one, lost one and had one game abandoned because of the weather.
But we're not finished today. No way. India are playing the United Arab Emirates right now. UAE have opted to bat after winning the toss, but things have not exactly gone to plan. Phil Dawkes is the man to take you through that match. I'm off to lie down.
More from New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum: "Trent Boult was outstanding for us, and so was Mitchell Starc for Australia.
"Some of the batting wasn't as good as it should have been but that can happen when you are up against high-class seam bowling. I wouldn't swap our bowlers for any others, with all due respect to everyone else."
Former Australia fast bowler Glenn McGrath writes on Twitter: "Amazing game between Australia and New Zealand. Great fightback by the Aussies but just couldn't get there. Well played Kiwis."
Brendon McCullum, the New Zealand captain, said: "It was one hell of a game. Both teams showed what quality bowlers they have. It was an amazing atmosphere and a great game to be a part of.
"It didn't go the distance but I'm sure everyone will go home happy. It's good to see both teams getting 300 plus but sometimes 150 games can be pretty exciting and everyone can go and have a beer now."
Vic Marks
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
"Despite all those hitters, the reason why these two teams are so strong is that they've got potent left-arm bowlers who can take wickets - and in this tournament, that's like gold dust."
More from Australia captain Michael Clarke on TMS: "Our batting was extremely poor, credit has to go to New Zealand for the way they bowled but our shot selection wasn't great.
"Mitchell Starc was outstanding for us and the New Zealand bowlers bowled really well. It was tough for our bowlers but credit to them, they found a way. I don't like losing and there are some areas we've got to improve, but thankfully we've got time in this tournament to improve."
Ex-England captain Michael Vaughan on Twitter: "Think we might get a rematch between Australia and New Zealand #Final."
Michael Clarke, the Australia captain, said: "The tension was there all game. It was very entertaining and we would have liked the result to go the other way but credit to New Zealand. Our batting was horrendous to put it mildly and Mitchell Starc was a genius.
"Both teams will probably say they didn't bat as well as they'd have liked. It was a good wicket if you got in. credit to the groundsman, it was a wonderful wicket, and a fantastic crowd as well.
"The atmosphere was great. The crowd want their home team to win but also to see good entertaining cricket. I thought NZ swung the ball really well and executed their plans well. We weren't disciplined enough with the bat."
Former India spinner Anil Kumble is full of praise for Kane Williamson. Kumble writes on Twitter: "What a game. Just witnessed a wonderful young player showing great maturity in finishing a job. Well done NZ. Future captain."
New Zealand paceman and man of the match Trent Boult on TMS: "My heart was racing at a million miles an hour when I went out there to bat, I've never been so nervous in my career.
"But I had full faith in Kane, he's a hell of a player and he calmed me down. Dan Vettori's bowling pulled them back really nicely which allowed our strike bowlers to come back and finish the job."
Ex-England batsman Paul Collingwood, who is now part of the Scotland coaching set-up, says on Twitter: "This World Cup has been the best ever already. Cricket is definitely on the up."
New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson on TMS: "The ball swung late all game, and Mitchell Starc's bowling was outstanding. But the way Boulty defended those two balls was amazing. I was always going to try and hit a boundary at the end as I didn't want to leave it too long.
"When I took that single we had three wickets left and I felt we had to take the run. It was world-class bowling from both left-armers. Tim Southee picked up some key wickets too and it was a huge effort against the number one side in the world."
New Zealand's Trent Boult, the player of the match, says: "Those two deliveries were pretty frightening at the end.
"Dan (Vettori) put in some good work and tied them down nicely. My mindset was to take wickets. I didn't realise I'd take five but it was nice.
"Everyone chipped in as a group. The bowling unit has been working well for the last year and it has just rolled on. We are looking forward to next Sunday and more good results hopefully."
England bowler Stuart Broad on Twitter: High-scoring games are fun to watch but the low scoring games get the nerves going. Great game at Eden Park. Well done New Zealand.
