"Moeen and Woakes will be missing for England tomorrow, so they're down to 13 players. So it's a chance for Tredwell, maybe Ballance, or Bopara who hasn't played in this World Cup yet."

"This New Zealand side is good enough to go all the way. Whether they do depends on who they play, as the knock-out phase is a completely different ball game."

"It's a bit like the 1992 World Cup, there's a wave of euphoria that New Zealand are doing well. Even though it's the start of the rugby season, the World Cup is still getting a lot of coverage."

South Africa's David Miller, who scored 49, said: "We have played consistent cricket over the last year or year-and-a-half so the confidence has comes from not only this tournament but that period as well. All of the top six have made contributions in the competition.

"It was great to be out there and have a little partnership with AB de Villiers, which is what we needed at the time."

"I'm sure South Africa will want Behardien to get through a lot of work with the ball now - if he can bowl seven or eight overs, or even the full 10, rather than having to go to the other part-timers, you can ink him in for that number seven spot for the quarter-finals."

  10. SA 341-6published at 04:47 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2015

Behardien continues his assault on Javed's figures as he punches another four through mid-wicket, and steps outside leg stump to bash the last ball of the innings for a first-bounce four past extra cover. 21 off that last over.

"He had long enough to line up the ball. It has gone higher than the stadium roof, and the fielder did everything right up until the ball got there."

  12. Dropped catchpublished at 04:46 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2015

Another big hit, the ball sails high into the Wellington sky and Behardien is dropped at cow corner as the ball slips out of Mustafa's hands. They run two.

  13. Behardien 50published at 04:45 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2015

Another six, this time over long-on, brings up Behardien's fifty from 28 balls.

  14. Sixpublished at 04:44 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2015

Last over. Javed to bowl, and Behardien can only work a single to long-off. Philander heaves one to substitute fielder Rohan Mustafa at long-on and then Javed straus with a high full toss which Behardien swivel-pulls into the stand at mid-wicket for six. It's also a no-ball.

  15. SA 316-6 (Behardien 41, Philander 9)published at 04:42 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2015

Naveed responds with a good yorker which Philander can only dig out for a single, but when he misses his length, Behardien powers him for four through the covers. A single means he'll be on strike for the last over, with 41 from 25 balls. Naveed finishes with 3-63 from 10.

"When batting, UAE will need to remember that Dale Steyn can only bowl 10 overs, and Morne Morkel can only bowl 10.

"Those overs might hurt and might be uncomfortable, but if they are going to try and avoid being embarrassed and being bowled out for a low score they are advised to be careful against those two. But they should also look at the fact that South Africa will have to rely on part-time bowlers as their fifth bowler."

  17. SA 308-6published at 04:40 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2015

Behardien steers Naveed for a single but Philander is tucking in here, driving a two before punching a four through cow corner.

  19. SA 301-6 (Behardien 33, Philander 2)published at 04:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2015

Vernon Philander, back in the side after nursing a hamstring strain for a couple of weeks, comes in for the last three overs - and after an exchange of singles, Javed spears one down the leg side and Behardien flicks it off his legs for four. A waist-high full toss to Philander is nearly called as a no-ball - but the umpires decide against it, and a single to mid-wicket brings up 300 for the Proteas. Nine from the over.

"He was swatting against the line. Mohammad Naveed has been one of the best bowlers for UAE and he has now got three wickets. There have been lots of starts from the South African batsmen, but with no one really going from fourth to fifth gear."
