"The ball is swinging, so Bangladesh have got to play sensibly and let it come on to the bat. I like this aggressive field from McCullum, he's really causing them problems."

It has taken more than six overs, but Bangladesh finally score two runs off one ball. Tamim Iqbal pulls one away to square-leg. Tamim adds another single before Soumya Sarkar gets off the mark with a single through third man.
Nick Strong: Who would you like to see in the final? Me? NZ vs SA - McCullum vs De Villiers, what a game it would be!

What Bangladesh do not need is a run out. Grant Elliott missed with a throw as Bangladesh attempted a panicky single. It may have been interesting with a direct hit. Soumya Sarkar is the man to replace Imrul Kayes.

"It's tough going for Bangladesh here. We saw a bit of turn on this pitch in the last game, too - and we've seen spinner Daniel Vettori come on early in some matches."
The pressure had been building and Bangladesh cannot cope. Trent Boult, who has still not conceded a run, gets it to swing and it completes deceives Imrul Kayes. The batsman had struggled for two runs off 19 balls. But he is out now. Bowled by Boult.
And another let off for Bangladesh. Tim Southee's delivery is perfect. It catches Imrul Kayes by surprise and bounces off the shoulder of the bat. The batsman has no idea where it has gone, and is hugely relieved to see it drop short of the New Zealand fielders.
This is the sort of bowling that England fans would have been expecting / hoping to see from Stuart Broad and James Anderson.

"Beautiful bowling again from Boult. It was a genuine forward defensive shot which took a genuine edge, and you've got to be there for those for the bowler. It's wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi's problem - he's got to come up, and bring those slips up with him."

So, so close to the first wicket of the day. Trent Boult's second over, just like the first, is a maiden. But it is so nearly a wicket maiden. It is just too good for Tamim, who gets an edge, but it just falls short of Ross Taylor at first slip. Tough times for Bangladesh, but great pressure from New Zealand's opening bowlers.

What a delivery from Tim Southee. He gets the yorker right and Tamim Iqbal just about manages to keep the ball off the stumps. He can't keep himself on his feet as he ends up on the deck. But he is still there.
Southee's line is near-perfect and it is a great start from the home bowlers. New Zealand are instantly on the attack, although Tamim gets a fortunate single off the bottom of the bat.

England take on Afghanistan in Sydney in a match that starts at 03:30 GMT.
Trent Boult looks to instantly continue his good form in the competition with one zooming past Imrul Kayes. The batsman is threatened right from the start, but survives a lovely first over from the left-armer. A maiden over.

"If there's any worry among the New Zealand supporters, it's that they've not really been tested by anyone, except by Australia."
With Mitchell McClenaghan playing, four of New Zealand's five main bowlers are left-handed, so what do they do? Start with the right arm pace of Tim Southee. A single apiece to Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes off the first over.
Jeremy Coney
Ex-New Zealand captain on BBC Test Match Special
"Bangladesh have really got to try and resist this New Zealand opening attack. It's normally been their middle order - Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim - who have scored the bulk of their runs. If the top order do their job, they can become a heck of a lot more dangerous."

It is a lovely day at Seddon Park in Hamilton. There is a huge crowd present and they are getting to enjoy some bright sunshine. Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes are the opening batsmen for Bangladesh. How will they cope with the New Zealand bowlers?
Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special
"If there's two bowlers here who are able to get any swing, it will be Boult and Southee, especially with a bit of cloud cover. I think it's the right decision at the toss."
