  1. Six - NZ 269-6published at 08:44 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

Nasir is still in the attack as Bangladesh ignore calling up their front line bowlers. They suffer as Anderson rocks back and hammers a six into the stand, where a man in an orange shirt takes it one-handed! He's in with a shout of a share of a million NZ dollars. The catch from the fan gets a bigger roar than the shot!

  2. NZ 263-6 (need 26 off 18 balls)published at 08:43 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

Seven from the over but, crucially, Corey Anderson retains the strike.

  3. Dropped catchpublished at 08:42 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

Can you believe it? Daniel Vettori gets a top edge into the leg side and the fielder, Nasir Hossain, races in from the boundary but the balls slips from his grasp just outside the circle. Drama.

  4. NZ 261-6published at 08:40 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

Mahmudullah is on to bowl. It is an interesting choice. Can he prove as successful with the ball as he has been with the bat? No, is the answer as Anderson smashes the first ball straight down the ground. He nearly took the umpire out with that. A single to mid-on follows but Vettori hits straight to point with a cut. "Wait, wait, wait" is the anguished cry.

"Heavy rain again in Sydney sees the entire press box crowd round to watch the New Zealand - Bangladesh game. It's cricketing royalty with all eyes on one TV - Vaughan, Boycott, Atherton and Hussain. They're getting excited too."

Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

"Vettori did well there with that sweep, rolled the wrists. He needed that. Nasir's done an excellent job, picked up a wicket, and if they could have got Anderson - the man who can clear the ropes - out, they really would have caused some problems."

  7. NZ 256-6 (need 33 off 24 balls)published at 08:38 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

Vettori alleviates the pressure when he drags the ball from off and sweeps it through the leg side for four. Cue whoops of delight in the crowd. A single follows, then Corey Anderson gets a top edge over the keeper's head, running a single. He's lucky he wasn't out there. Nervy stuff.

  8. NZ 250-6published at 08:36 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

40 runs from 30 balls. Simple, right? Maybe not. Anderson carves one into off for a single off Nasir but Vettori is unable to keep the scoreboard ticking as the bowler traps him at the striker's end.

  9. NZ 249-6 (need 40 off 30 balls)published at 08:34 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

So, Daniel Vettori joins Corey Anderson at the crease. If ever there was a man for a crisis.

  10. It's raining againpublished at 08:34 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

Bad news from Sydney, where the planned 08:30 GMT inspection has been curtailed after the rain returned. England and Afghanistan must keep waiting.

TMS commentator Jim Maxwell has tweeted this picture of the SCG:

Mmm... could Bangladesh cut another of the so-called bigger boys down to size? Luke Ronchi creams the ball over wide long-off but succeeds only in picking out Nasir Hossain.

  12. Six - NZ 246-5published at 08:31 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

Don't bother chasing that one. Corey Anderson clears his front leg and hits the ball out of the ground. Can we have a new ball, please? The fourth umpire comes on with new nuts in the type of briefcase a Bond villain would use.

  14. NZ 240-5 (need 49 off 36 balls)published at 08:28 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

Corey Anderson, rather like David Warner does, tightens the Velcro on his gloves between deliveries. It's as if it comes loose because of his bulging forearms. Luke Ronchi scurvies a leg-before shout because the ball was sliding down leg. Another tidy over from Nasir goes for just five.

  17. NZ 235-5 (need 54 off 42 balls)published at 08:25 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

Sonny Bill Williams likes to step into the boxing ring when not playing rugby, and I reckon Corey Anderson would give him a run for his money. The Black Caps all-rounder is a strapping bloke who pounces on a short ball from Taskin and pulls it to the boundary for four. This is a guy with an ODI century off 36 balls, remember. A full ball is then muscled straight down the ground for another four. Big over.

"One or two big overs will do this, but they don't want to take two many risks and lose any more wickets as there is not a lot of experience and depth there for New Zealand. It is important that these two do the bulk of the work."

  20. NZ 223-5 (need 66 off 48 balls)published at 08:19 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2015

Scoreboard pressure, eh? It looks like it gets to the best of them. Even the rampant New Zealanders. Luke Ronchi is the new batsman and he pulls a half-tracker for four through mid-wicket to get off the mark.
