England and Australia's players are chatting together on the outfield. Even though I don't think there's another Ashes for a couple of years, they'll still see plenty of each other this winter - several England players have signed for Women's Big Bash League teams, while there's a World Twenty20 tournament in India in the spring.

We're in a transition phase here with one double-header and two stand-alone games. But given time, all games should stand on their own two feet, and hopefully at the bigger grounds too.

We weren't great today unfortunately. England bowled well today. It is a disappointing finish but we can't complain. We did what we came here to do. I don't think the conditions changed much through the game but we lost too many wickets and couldn't get back in the game. We needed a perfect display with the ball and didn't get that. Our average age is around 25 and we have a lot of games between us. We have to keep trying to improve. We have the opportunity to dominate women's cricket.

The most important thing was we wanted to win and we haven't so any personal achievements pales in comparison. If you are an opening bowler you want these conditions. I managed to get the ball in the right place. Nat Sciver bowled and batted brilliantly. We've bowled well in this series. We are pleased with but unfortunately we haven't retained the Ashes. I have played an entire summer, I'm still fit and I can't tell you the last time I did that. I will have a bit of a break now and then into winter training. We have five tours next year so we need a good winter.

It was really good. It was really disappointing down in Hove and really important for us to put in a good performance and a bit of pride. We wanted to give the supporters something in return. We've got the belief down our order and showed today we can bat all the way down.

If you've not been following the entire series, England won the first ODI in Taunton, but Australia then triumphed in the ODIs at Worcester and Bristol, and in the Test at Canterbury.

While England won the first T20 in Chelmsford, Australia then won at Hove to clinch the Ashes.

So, you could say that England have won the T20 series 2-1. But you could also say they were clearly second best across the multi-format series.

That was massively needed. There were questions of whether a gap was opening but England have shown they have the ability. two performances stand out: Anya Shrubsole and Nat Sciver. England will walk away with a few sore points from this series, but this is a positive. There is a bright future ahead.
