Plenty of time in this game. England are comfortably ahead of the rate. Schutt will now try to extract the same sort of swing Farrell got.

  2. Eng 26-3 (Sciver 12, Brunt 0)published at 5 overs

Australia keep Perry going at the River Taff End, but Sciver is still batting positively, stepping forward and using the pace on the ball to deflect a four through long leg. Perry has 1-21 from three overs.

Farrell has that extra bit of movement. She has come in and been so effective right from the word go. Australia have a plethora of dynamic bowlers and batters. They have a very healthy squad.

  4. Eng 22-3 (Farrell 2-1-5-2)published at 4 overs

Katherine Brunt has responded to her promotion to number five in this T20 series by scoring 13 not out from seven balls at Chelmsford, and 20 from 29 at Hove. But for now, she has to dig in as Farrell completes a wicket maiden.

I think she has been done by the amount of swing Farrell has been getting. She was frustrated at not being able to get away and she ended up chasing a wide one. England under a lot of pressure now. The crowd are quiet - they are not feeling this.

And the pressure increases for England as Edwards chases a wide delivery from Farrell and is well caught at backward point.

Sciver is moving her feet well. The surface is coming on nicely so if you can get to the pitch it does negate the swing. England will feel confident. They need to set a platform. The key is wickets in hand.

  8. Eng 22-2 (Edwards 8, Sciver 8)published at 3 overs

Edwards helps herself to some singles, but it's Sciver who's looking to be more aggressive at this stage, coming down the wicket to Perry and slicing a three past backward point, then guiding three more to deep extra cover. England are "Richie Benaud" - 22-2. Just the 90 more needed from 17 overs.

Good news - that floodlight bulb [see 12th over] has been fixed.

  10. Eng 12-2 (Edwards 5, Sciver 2)published at 2 overs

Natalie Sciver comes in - like Australia, England have their number four at the crease before the end of the second over. A couple of legside wides boost the score, while a firm drive back past the bowler from Sciver brings her two. England need 100 more from 18 overs.

England massively in trouble. Taylor has got to be disappointed. When she is playing well she moves her feet, but she was static there. Australia are going to be feeling confident. They don't want to go home leaving this T20 series hanging and now they have a chance to drive this home.

    Taylor c Healy b Farrell 3 (Eng 8-2)

Again, an England batter is let down by a lack of footwork as Taylor is stuck in concrete and can only feather an edge off Rene Farrell to keeper Alyssa Healy, standing up to the stumps.

If Edwards or Taylor perform you feel confident that England will win, but when they don't, they struggle. These two are still driving the game for their country. They need some others to stand up.

  14. Eng 7-1 (target 112)published at 1 over

While England ponder their change of opener, Taylor is off the mark with a characteristic clip through mid-wicket for two. Edwards uses the long boundary, guiding a well-run three to the cow corner boundary.

That was a poor shot. It was a decent delivery from Perry but Wyatt didn't move her foot at all, the ball jagged back in and she was caught out.

    Wyatt b Perry 0 (Eng 1-1)

Danielle Wyatt goes first ball - beaten by a fast delivery from Ellyse Perry which goes between bat and pad, flicks the top of her left pad and demolishes her stumps. Captain Edwards, who had taken a single off her second delivery, is joined by wicketkeeper Sarah Taylor.

A quick turnaround means Australia are already striding out to the middle at Cardiff, as England look to score 112 to win the game. Skipper Charlotte Edwards is accompanied to the middle by new opening partner Danielle Wyatt.

I would say in 2009 when England dominated, Charlotte Edwards was the best captain in the world. But since then others have come on, like Meg Lanning, and been a bit more dynamic. It is clear that England have a game plan but they haven't been flexible enough. I don't think England will risk a change yet. I might consider looking at Heather Knight but I don't think they are ready to do that because of the force Edwards has been.
