  1. LANCASHIRE BEAT HAMPSHIRE BY SIX WICKETSpublished at 18.5 overs
    Breaking

    Lancashire 119-4 (18.5 overs) v Hampshire 115 (19.5 overs)

You wait 18 overs for a six and, like buses, two come along one after the another. Chris Wood strays onto leg stump and James Faulkner deposits the ball into the crowd.

The next ball is sightly straighter, but Faulkner now has his eye in and repeats the dose, sending Lancashire Lightning through to face Northants in this evening's final.

  2. Lancashire 105-4 (Brown 45, Faulkner 6)published at 18 overs

    Target 116

It's back to seam for Hampshire and Yasir Arafat, who bowled a single over for 10 runs earlier on. Still plenty of singing from the crowd, who have yet to see a six in this game.

A slow bouncer foxes James Faulkner, who fails to make contact. Lancashire are finding it hard to time the ball and a poor over next up, and this could still be an interesting finish.

  3. Lancashire 100-4 (Brown 43, Faulkner 3)published at 17 overs

    Target 116

Karl Brown hoists Will Smith into the leg-side, but it's only good for two.

James Faulkner collects a single from the final ball, courtesy of a mis-field, as Lancashire's total reaches 100 - 16 left from 18 balls.

  4. Lancashire 94-4 (Brown 39, Faulkner 1)published at 16 overs

    Target 116

Lancashire can't throw this away, can they? Australian James Faulkner comes out as they look to finish the job.

Karl Brown is looking composed at the other end.

The wind would have been pushing across him and he was facing the sun. He's done very well and got his team back a bit of momentum.

  6. wicket

WICKET Buttler (c Ervine b Briggs 10)published at 15.2 overs

    Lancashire 91-4 (Brown 37) Target 116

Jos Buttler effortlessly lofts Danny Briggs over extra cover for four and is so pleased with the stroke, he tries it again from the next delivery - only problem is that Sean Ervine pulls off a stunning two-handed diving catch just inside the rope.

  7. Lancashire 87-3 (Brown 37, Buttler 6)published at 15 overs

    Target 116

Will Smith gets away with a long hop as Lancashire can only pick up a single.

Jos Buttler tries a reverse sweep, but it only brings him one with four in total from the over.

  8. Lancashire 83-3 (Brown 35, Buttler 4)published at 14 overs

    Target 116

More tidy bowling by Liam Dawson, who ends his four overs with 0-19. Lancashire content to eschew any further risk-taking - and who can blame them in their position?

  9. Lancashire 79-3 (Brown 32, Buttler 3)published at 13 overs

    Target 116

England's Jos Buttler strides to the middle and flashes his first delivery towards third man for three runs. 37 needed from 42 balls.

Because it's that bit shorter it gripped. Croft trying to put a bit of power on it, but just couldn't get it away.

  11. wicket

WICKET Croft (c Dawson b Smith 9)published at 12.3 overs

    Lancashire 76-3 (Brown 32) Target 116

Will Smith comes on for some gentle off-spin and Steven Croft obligingly hits his third ball down deep mid-wicket's throat.

  12. Lancashire 74-2 (Brown 32, Croft 7)published at 12 overs

    Target 116

Lancashire content to pick up singles as Danny Briggs gets through a tidy over for Hampshire.

But surely they need three or four wickets in quick succession if they are to have a chance?

Middlesex batsman Nick Gubbins isn't too impressed with Finals Day so far...

  14. Lancashire 69-2 (Brown 30, Croft 4)published at 11 overs

    Target 116

So, 58 needed from the final 60 deliveries. Piece of cake?

Karl Brown edges one for four and then gets enough on a pull through mid-wicket to beat two boundary riders and pick up another.

  15. Lancashire 58-2 (Brown 21, Croft 3)published at 10 overs

    Target 116

At the half-way stage of their innings, Hampshire were 69-3, so Lancashire are behind the rate in that regard - and they are unlucky to only have two men out as James Vince's throw just misses the stumps at the bowler's end with Karl Brown well short.

  16. Lancashire 55-2 (Brown 19, Croft 2)published at 9 overs

    Target 116

On all the evidence so far, spinners are going have a major say in which team takes the trophy home tonight - and Liam Dawson sends down an excellent maiden for Hampshire.

Lancashire still clear favourites, but plenty for them to think about.

  17. Lancashire 55-2 (Brown 19, Croft 2)published at 8 overs

    Target 116

Steven Croft comes to the middle with his Lancashire side well on course for the final, despite the loss of Alex Davies. He is soon under way with a couple of singles.

That was dead plumb, right in front of the stumps. The ball was a little bit quicker. Davies will be frustrated with that he'll feel like he's given his wicket away.

  20. wicket

WICKET Davies (lbw b Briggs 18)published at 7.3 overs

    Lancashire 52-2 (Brown 18) Target 116

More left-arm spin as Danny Briggs comes into the attack.

Alex Davies attempts a reverse paddle and pays the price as he misses the ball and the umpire's finger goes up after it strikes him on the pad.
