Hampshire won their last two group games by the narrowest of margins to finish third in the South Group.

Captain James Vince hit a fine hundred in their quarter-final against Worcestershire, before the game ended in controversy and victory for the south coast side on Duckworth-Lewis when bad light stopped play.

Lancashire scraped through to the last eight on a superior run-rate to Notts after their final group match was washed out.

They then shared a thrilling tie with Kent in the quarter-final but qualified because of losing fewer wickets.

Reigning champions Birmingham Bears topped the North Group winning 10 of their 14 games, before a Laurie Evans half-century set up a 24-run win over Essex in the quarter-final.

Northants had to wait until the final round of the group stages were washed out to seal their spot in the last eight.

David Willey then smashed them to Edgbaston with a brilliant 40-ball hundred against Sussex.

    Edgbaston Weather

We've seen some previous Finals Days affected by Birmingham's glorious summer rain, but today we should get a full day in without any interruptions.

I'm no Michael Fish though, so don't take my word for it!

"Edgbaston is set for another T20 Finals Day and the good news is the sun is out and it's set to stay dry throughout the day.

"Birmingham Bears kick off proceedings against Northants Steelbacks in the first semi-final.

"The Bears are of course on familiar territory on their home turf, but also know if they can lift the trophy come tonight, they'll be the first team to successfully defend the title.

"Northants are back at Finals Day two years after David Willey's heroics with bat and ball - including a hat-trick - saw them beat Surrey in the final to lift the trophy.

"Big-hitting Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi returns to the squad to bolster the ranks, but many eyes will be on Willey after his blistering century in the quarter-final against Sussex."

As I hinted at just now, Northants are boosted by the return of Shahid Afridi.

The 35-year-old only met up with the squad on Friday after his flight was delayed from Pakistan.

He played six matches for the Steelbacks in the group stage, scoring 93 runs at an average of 31 and took seven wickets at an average of 19.86.

There may be no Freddie Flintoff this year, but the script of today's T20 Blast Finals Day has a familiar cast.

Three of the four teams who made up 2014's showpiece event at Edgbaston - reigning champions Birmingham Bears,Hampshire and Lancashire are back once again.

They are joined by 2013 winners Northants who have a certain 'Boom Boom' back among the ranks.

We'll hear more about that shortly, but in the meantime I hope you're all ready for what promises to be a fantastic Finals Day.
