Well, after all that excitement we've got plenty more to come.

Hampshire take on Lancashire from 14:30 BST.

But perhaps, more importantly before that, we've got the Mascot Race!

Northants captain Alex Wakely added to Sky Sports:

"David Willey and Rory Kleinveldt have been brilliant all season for us, but then we managed to stay with it.

"The last thing you want to do is get off to a good start and then let them claw their way back into it.

"The spinners bowled really well as well."

Northants captain Alex Wakely told Sky Sports:

"It was a funny old game. The wicket didn't quite play as we expected it to, it was quite a tricky wicket in the end.

"But we talked about turning up and executing our skills from the start and today was the day that we did. From the first ball we were right on it."

Birmingham Bears captain Varun Chopra told Sky Sports:

"We weren't good enough with the bat. We did pretty well to get up to 130.

"But even in the field we weren't our best and it's just a shame. It's fantastic support from the home crowd and disappointing for us to perform as we did."

If that doesn't have cricket fans in Titchmarsh, Islip, Gretton, Brigstock, Weedon, Geddington, Yardley Gobion and all the other little corners of Northants dancing in the streets, then maybe victory in this evening's final will. We shall see.

What a mature knock by Richard Levi, whose solid stature prompts memories of another Northants favourite of yesteryear, the late Colin Milburn,, external who played nine Tests for England in the second half of the 1960s.

    Breaking

    Northants 135-5 (18 overs) v Birmingham Bears 131-6 (20 overs)

Shahid Afridi wins it for Northants with a straight drive off Oliver Hannon-Dalby down the ground for four and the reigning champions are out.

The Steelbacks had a brief wobble in the middle of the innings, but their victory was anchored by Richard Levi's fine unbeaten 63.

Earlier, Birmingham Bears did well to recover from 14-4 to post 131-6, but it never seemed enough and Northants are through to their second final in three years.

It also means we continue the trend where no team has ever won back-to-back titles.

  8. Northants 123-5 (Levi 62, Afridi 8)published at 17 overs

9 runs needed from 18 balls.

Richard Levi is showing all his international class here.

The South African drives Chris Woakes magnificently through the covers for four.

He then pulls a slower ball away to the boundary, courtesy of a misfield and makes it three in three with another leg side clip.

You'd have to say that is the game for Northants.

  9. Northants 108-5 (Levi 53, Afridi 7)published at 16 overs

24 runs needed from 24 balls

A decent over for Northants as seven come from it.

Shahid Afridi is swinging hard, but can't find the middle yet.

If he does, the crowd will know about it!

  10. Northants 101-5 (Levi 51, Afridi 3)published at 15 overs

    Target 132

Northants bring up their 100 and need just 31 from 30 balls. Simple, surely?

The South African brings up his half-century clipping Ateeq Javid for two.

If he's there at the end, Northants will win.

  12. Northants 96-5 (Levi 48, Afridi 1)published at 14 overs

    Target 132

It's all getting a bit tense out there now. Boyd Rankin completes a superb over conceding just a single to Shahid Afridi.

    Where's your money?

It's just getting a little twitchy now. I wouldn't want to see Richard Levi getting out at this stage.

    Northants 95-5 (Levi 48) Target 132

Oh dear, another silly shot, and another wicket for Birmingham Bears.

Stephen Crook slashes Boyd Rankin away but it's aerial and Ian Bell takes the simplest of catches on the point boundary.

Shahid Afridi is the new man in. This could be over very quickly if Boom Boom gets going!

  16. Northants 95-4 (Levi 48, Crook 11)published at 13 overs

    Target 132

Northants don't need to do anything stupid here.

Stephen Crook and Richard Levi just knock Ateeq Javid around and six comes from the over.

That's all they need to do. 37 needed from 42.

  17. Northants 89-4 (Levi 47, Crook 6)published at 12 overs

    Target 132

Boyd Rankin is continuing to cause problems with his pace and bounce.

Stephen Crook looks uncomfortable as he lifts one into the leg side, but it falls away from any fielders.

    Just five from the over.

  18. Northants 84-4 (Levi 44, Crook 4)published at 11 overs

    Target 132

Steven Crook is the new man and finishes Jeetan Patel's over with a cut for four.

Richard Levi is the key from here.

It's game on at Edgbaston! Northants' captain Alex Wakely pokes nervously outside off stump and nicks Jeetan Patel behind.

It's a first-ball duck for the skipper. Surely Birmingham Bears can't win from here? Or can they?

  20. wicket

WICKET Duckett (c Ambrose b Rankin 6)published at 10 overs

    Northants 74-3 (Levi 39) Target 132

Birmingham Bears have a sniff! Ben Duckett tries to clip Boyd Rankin away but the ball finds his edge and Tim Ambrose takes a simple catch behind the stumps.

There will be a few nerves in the Steelbacks' dugout now, that's for sure.
