"It was a decent delivery - it carried on straight and caused Rizwan to get a bit cramped for room. Good from Rashid - he's very good at clearing up the tail."

"It just shows you the difference when you've got runs on the board. It gives you confidence. The pressure has really told on Pakistan today."

  5. Pak 79-5 (target 284)published at 27 overs

Sarfraz and Rizwan are going to have to step up a gear at some point if Pakistan are going to have any chance of chasing this down. But when to go? At the moment, they're picking up four or five runs an over against the England spinners when they need more than double that amount - Rizwan hits the last three balls of the over straight to fielders.

  7. Pak 76-5 (Rashid 8-0-29-0)published at 26 overs

It looks like Rashid is going to bowl straight through here, this is his eighth over and he's doing a good job for England, restricting the sixth-wicket pair to ones and twos despite some feverish sweep shots from Rizwan. Just four from the over, the required rate is up to 8.67.

  9. Pak 72-5 (Rizwan 12, Sarfraz 11)published at 25 overs

Rizwan sweeps, Moeen appeals for leg before but a leg bye is signalled as the ball flies off Rizwan's left pad. England's infielders are on their toes, and at the halfway point, Pakistan are very much trailing.

Matthew Dick: Feel for Rashid there. That's out all day long, poor decision by the umpire. The problem with DRS highlighted.

Mark Wellman-Riggs: That's a shocking call, half the ball removing the wicket, review process wrong in this case.

Arjun Sohanpal: How could that possibly be "Umpire's Call"!? 3/4 of the ball was hitting leg stump! Terrible decision.

  13. Pak 67-5 (target 284)published at 23 overs

Finally England turn to their fifth bowler, off-spinner Moeen Ali, his second delivery is a bit loose and Sarfraz thumps it back down the ground for a single. Rizwan conscientiously marks a fresh guard, but the run rate is spiralling up past eight an over as Rizwan can only play out five dot balls. Moeen summons the 12th man at the end of the over... he wants a sweater.

  15. Pak 66-5 (Rashid 6-0-22-0)published at 22 overs

The reprieved Rizwan helps himself to a single, as does Sarfraz. They've rather got away with it here.

  17. Pak 64-5published at 21.3 overs

Umpire's call for hitting leg stump (by about 0.00001 millimetres - in other words about 49.99999% of that ball was hitting the stumps according to the ball-tracker) - so Rizwan survives!
