Billings has started very well - not easy to come out and score quickly on a wicket like this, but he's managing it. Tanvir drags one down and Billings flicks him wristily over midwicket for four.

"Sohail is a little like me. He doesn't have a face that lends itself to smiling."

  4. Eng 107-4published at 15.3 overs

Cheeky, very cheeky from Sam Billings. He gets himself way over to the leg side and paddles Tanvir behind square for four.

"Now Pakistan need to finish well because they don't bat deep. They will struggle to chase anything more than 130 or 140."

  6. Eng 101-4 (Morgan 36, Billings 3)published at 15 overs

England reach the hundred mark with five overs to go. Eoin Morgan holds the key to a good score from here.

  7. Eng 98-4published at 14.3 overs

Sam Billings enters the fray at number six. He has to start his innings against the irritatingly slow Imran Khan - whose loopy back-of-the-hand seem to take an age to arrive at the crease. He's off the mark with a single into the leg side.

"It was an excellent innings from Vince. In the end, he was undone by a beautiful delivery. It wasn't such a thunderbolt from Riaz, it looked like he rolled his fingers over it."

    Vince b Wahab 41 (Eng 95-4)

The debutant finally falls - after an impressive innings too. He heaved across the line at Wahab, and has his off stump pegged back. Vince is not a happy bunny - but he's played well.

Richard Higgins: Catch 22 for selectors; if not now, then when do you try these guys? Need potential back up for World T20...injuries, form etc.

  12. Eng 94-3 (run rate 7.23)published at 13 overs

Vince is a clever manipulator of the ball - not dissimilar in style to a Mahela Jaywardene. He uses Afridi's pace to deflect a ball from outside off stump to the fine-leg boundary. 37 off the last four overs for England.

"They way Morgan bats is so relaxed. He is temperamentally so solid. That is why he is so suited to limited-overs cricket and so good against spin."

Oh, that's glorious - a little shimmy down the wicket from Eoin Morgan and he catches hold of a slightly short Afridi with a picture-perfect swing of the bat. Six all the way.

"England need to double the score from here. 150 or 160 would be competitive. Anything less and they will be in trouble."

  16. Eng 80-3 (Vince 36, Morgan 24)published at 12 overs

Vince gets away with one - premeditated swipe, clothed off the top of the bat but it lands just short of the onrushing fielder at mid-on. Vince is trying to line Wahab up and bludgeon him into next week but a clever mix of express pace and wickedly dipping slower ball keeps him under wraps. Excellent over for Pakistan, just three from it.

William Harvey: Rafatullah Mohmand was our overseas player in the Derbyshire leagues a few years back. He's top class. Deserves this chance.

  18. Eng 77-3 (run rate 7.0)published at 11 overs

Afridi with a real loose delivery, it slips out of the hand and Vince splatters it past deep midwicket for another four.
