Rousing rendition of Jana Gana Mana, the Indian anthem. MS Dhoni looks like he might had a bit of Just For Men before this tournament. Not as much of the George Clooneys from the skipper.

Now the anthems. God Defend New Zealand is a personal favourite. Kane Williamson looks a tad reluctant to sing.

A wonderful moment in Nagpur as the teams line up to remember the life of former New Zealand batsman Martin Crowe, who died earlier this month. A moment's applause in India is something else...

"New Zealand have gone for spin and you can see why. Swing and seam movement won't have as much of an impact here."

"On the way here even five hours before the game there were people streaming down the streets on motorbikes with flags whirling on the back - brilliant, India is a fabulous place to watch cricket. And when the host nation has a team as good as this one... I think we're in for a very tasty tournament."

You can read, you can watch and, as always, you can listen with Test Match Special. The team have just hit the airwaves from Nagpur and you can hear the commentary by hitting the live coverage tab at the top of this page. I think it's called a multi-platform offering...

India, by the way, have already had one victory today. The hosts kicked off the women's tournament with a simple victory over Bangladesh. The highlights are right here, including a very curious stumping that wasn't.

Some very, very interesting team news from New Zealand, who leave out Trent Boult and Tim Southee - two of the leading swing bowlers in world cricket over the past year. Three frontline spinners for the Black Caps, who are obviously expecting it to turn.

  15. Postpublished at 13:38

India captain MS Dhoni: "The wicket seems quite hard and I don't think it will slow down too much.

"The balance of the side is crucial. We've got three fast bowlers and two proper spinners and two part-timers."

On the pressure of being hosts: "We never play a game when we're not under pressure. That's part and parcel with Indian cricket - the guys are used to it."

  16. Postpublished at 13:36

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson: "We are going to have a bat. It's a used surface and looks very dry.

"Hopefully we can make the most of it first and it will suit our bowlers in the second innings.

"In India you have to adapt to all the different wickets you can play on. This one looks a bit slow and takes a bit of turn."

  18. New Zealand win the toss and will batpublished at 13:32

Kane Williamson calls heads and sees the coin come down his way - I've never heard such a crowd fall so silent at the flick of a coin. The Black Caps will bat first, while Dhoni says he isn't too disappointed.
