Erm, what's gone on here? Something of dance between the two batsmen, single not taken, Shakib has to dive back into his ground. Also, his shoe has come off. How has that happened?

"Tamim Iqbal has really got going these last couple of overs. Without doubt he is the premier Bangladesh batsmen. They're taking it to Pakistan, Bangladesh."
Oooowww! Ooowwww! Oowwwwww! Not a cry of pain, but Umar Akmal hollering for a catch behind. Shakib is sweeping, Umar thinks he's got something on it, but the umpire simply signals wide. Eleven from the over. Bangladesh need a few more of those.
More spin, Pakistan bringing offie Shoaib Malik into the attack with a pair of left-handers at the crease - Shakib Al Hasan has joined Tamim Iqbal. Tamim! Inside-out, over cover for another maximum. While he's there, the Tigers have hope.

"Retribution for Shahid Afridi - it was an expensive over but all of sudden he comes back into it. An early wicket for the Pakistan captain after his 49 from 19 with the bat."
Sabbir b Afridi 25 (Ban 44-2)
Boom boom! Shahid Afridi has been expensive in this over, but now he has out-thought Sabbir Rahman. Twice Afridi has been too short, with Sabbir looking to pounce on another one that he thinks is back of a length. Afridi, though, gets it to skid through, cramping the batsman for room and taking the leg stump.
Laura, a stuffed toy cow sounds like one of the more useless substitute cricket balls. Cows don't bounce, do they? Another short ball from Afridi is cut for four by Sabbir.

Laura Cooney: I recall an impromptu backyard match at university using a stuffed toy cow as the ball.
An awful start by the skipper. A long-hop is pulled over the square leg fence by Tamim for the first maximum of the innings.

Afghanistan meet Sri Lanka in Kolkata tomorrow.
Tamim has been quite so far, but swings for the fences and barely gets it off the track. A short single takes him to 8 from 12 balls. In the face of some very decent bowling, Bangladesh are falling well behind. Shahid Afridi is about to come into the attack.
Pakistan introduce the third of their left-arm seamers, with Wahab Riaz immediately smeared through mid-off by Sabbir for four. In the crowd, a chap painted head to toe as a tiger celebrates with the sort of force that resulted in Elvis' demise. He should be careful. Don't overdo it, old chap.

Former Bangladesh all-rounder
"At this stage Pakistan were 37-1, so Bangladesh are a little behind but it's important that they haven't lost more wickets since the first over. They will need to have wickets in hand once we reach about 10 overs to go."
Still Irfan, who bangs the ball into the pitch and gets very sharp bounce towards the hopping Sabbir. He's got a bag of tricks too, with a slower ball almost duping Sabbir into holing out. Very good stuff from Irfan, who only concedes fours singles and a wide. The required rate is up to 11, which is a big ask to maintain over 16 overs.

Vince Kenny: Odd cricket equipment? Surely you don't have to look any further than Adam Gilchrist and his squash ball?
The light is fading quickly in Kolkata, dusk is well and truly with us. Music plays at the end of the over, hamming up the atmos. Bangladesh are ticking along nicely. Good, not spectacular.
