Spin? No spin here, Harry. We tell it like it is. Hello, what's going on? Shahid Afridi has lost his mind and has asked Sarfraz Ahmed to take his pads off and bowl the third over. It looks a shocking decision as Sabbir belts the first four balls for six...

Not really. Still Amir, with Sabbir flat-batting through the covers for four more.

Clearly, there is no other way to describe Mohammad Irfan than 'the giant Mohammad Irfan'. More than 7ft tall, he's set for a career in the WWE when he's finished playing cricket. Right-hander Rahman, who looks in good touch, greets him with a drive through mid-wicket for four.

"What a terrific start for Mohammad Amir and Pakistan. This is exactly what Bangladesh didn't need. They were already on the back foot because of Pakistan's massive total..."

  7. Ban 6-1 (target 202)published at 1 overs

Sabbir Rahman is the new man, immediately guiding behind point for four. Amir, front foot firmly behind the line, responds with a rozzer that nips away off the seam. A brilliant first over and one that has made Bangladesh's mountain a little higher.

    Sarkar b Amir 0 (Ban 1-1)

Bowled him! Mohammad Amir is too quick for Soumya Sarkar, with the white leather crashing into the off stump before Sarkar can blink. So late on that shot as to be positively posthumous. In the face of a huge chase, Bangladesh suffer an early blow. And the noise! Deafening.

Having said, Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal has been is stellar form in the first week of this tournament. If he gets going, the Tigers might have a chance. He's in the middle with Soumya Sarkar. Mohammad Amir has the new ball.

Lazy, hazy evening sunshine in Kolkata, not a hint of a cloud in a sky that is now being boosted by the floodlights. Pakistan, in Plymouth Argyle green, are conferencing on the outfield. I think I heard someone say "there's no way they'll knock these off. We might be able to give everyone a bowl".

Pakistan will remain in Kolkata after today's game before facing arch rivals India at Eden Gardens on Saturday.

But can cricket bring the two neighbouring nations together, despite their off-field history? Indian parliamentarian Shashi Tharoor has written this piece for BBC News which asks if the game "can be an instrument for diplomacy, not an alternative to it."

What a innings that was from Afridi. The wily old fox found his way into the henhouse and boy did the feathers fly. A huge task for Bangladesh now, and you sense Tamim will be crucial to their hopes. Here's Stephan Shemilt to take you through the reply.

Pakistan's Mohammad Hafeez: "We wanted to open the tournament strongly, forget what was in the past because in the last few months we haven't played that well in T20s. But we are ready to work hard here to prove we are a good team.

"We wanted to set the momentum early and then for Shahid Afridi to continue that. It's a good sign that he is on form for the team.

"Over 200 is always a good total in T20 and 201 is a good total but still you have to work hard to win. Yes it's a good pitch but it has turned and we have quality in our spin attack. We will back ourselves."

And a two and a one from the final two deliveries from Shoaib Malik take Pakistan past the 200 mark and complete a very, very impressive batting performance from Pakistan.
