South Africa's Chris Morris is named man of the match for his 4-27.
He says: "I'm happy with the performance and to get our first win at the World Cup. I just tried to bowl as quick as I can and it paid off for me.
"As a bowler, it's part of the job watching guys hit sixes and trying to take wickets and restrict runs. Nagpur has been turning a lot, it will be a new challenge for us, but I think our spinners will be licking their lips."

"Afghanistan frightened Sri Lanka the other night, and they frightened South Africa here. If it hadn't been for that over of brilliant De Villiers hitting, it could have been really close."
Jonathan Agnew

"There were some chinks in South Africa's bowling that were exposed by Afghanistan. There are some pretty big smiles on South African faces, not least that of the captain Du Plessis, who for a while must have thought: 'Here we go again.'"
A very entertaining game. Afghanistan may have lost but they can take an awful lot away from this, not least of all their growing ability to compete.
South Africa are back in the game after that defeat to England.
Shapoor b Rabada 1 (Afg 172 all out)
A neat conclusion to the game as last man Shapoor Zadran is clean-bowled by Rabada from the last ball of the match. Afghanistan have given SA a scare but they ran out of steam and finish 37 runs short.

"I suspect De Villiers will get Man of the Match, but that is arguably the match-winning performance by Chris Morris. He tried to get under their skin, and he did."

Harji Chahal: It doesn't matter whether you win or not, but from what circumstances you came and the way you are playing against big teams. You are real heroes.
Mark Savile: Rabada Steyn Abbott Tahir Morris. I thought SA's strongest weapon was their bowling (bar ABdV!) but seems they are struggling.
Dawlat b Morris 0 (169-9)
It is an ambitious stroke to try and scoop Morris in just your second ball. Dawlat Zadran tries just that and is bowled. Morris ends with 4-27. A superb bowling display.
Rashid b Morris 11 (Afg 167-8)
Morris has been very much the pick of the South African bowlers. He has kept his head when others around him were losing theirs. Rashid takes him for two fours from his first two balls but the bowler strikes back with a full ball that cleans the young Afghan up.

"Afghanistan have a bowling attack that will trouble sides, especially at these low-bouncing grounds where spin as an advantage. They're going to be hard to pummel around the ground."
Afghanistan play England in Delhi on Wednesday, then West Indies in Nagpur on Sunday.
Afghanistan have nothing left in the tank. Rashid Khan does his best to try and get the ball away but Abbott and his side are firmly on top now.

"Shenwari played some good shots, but time was clamping down on him. It's not going to happen now, but Afghanistan have given Du Plessis some nervous moments."
Sami c Wiese b Abbott 25 (Afg 156-7)
The Afghan innings is petering out. Sami tries to be clever with a steered shot down to third man but ends up lofting the ball to Wiese at backard point. The batsman is reluctant to go. But he has to, as the SA players are keen to tell him.
Zadran c De Kock b Rabada 12 (Afg 156-6)
Zadran keeps swinging and nicks a full ball to take the ball to De Kock for a routine catch. This game is over now.
There is still life in Afghanistan. Having missed Rabada's first ball, Zadran belts him over midwicket for six before flicking a four to a similar spot.

"Even if South Africa do get over the line here, there are still going to be some questions for them about how they move forward."
I think this has slipped away from Afghanistan now. They simply haven't had the hitting power in their middle order to keep up with the rate. Najibullah Zadran is the next man to have a dart but Tahir is a wily customer and keeps he and Sami in check.
Nabi c De Villiers b Tahir 11 (Afg 140-5)
This is probably for the best for Afghanistan. Nabi didn't look like clearing the rope at any point in his innings and he underlines this by planting the ball into the hands of De Villiers at deep mid-on off Tahir.
