"The Australian spinners are doing the job for their captain. Pakistan are slightly ahead of where Australia were, but there was that explosion of runs at the end of the innings."
Umar has made eight T20 fifties, with a best of 94 against the Aussies in 2014 that contained nine fours and four sixes. There are no boundaries in Glenn Maxwell's first over though, just singles, yet Pakistan are ahead of Australia at the halfway mark, they were 77-3.

"We're in for some entertainment - not too many games have had a lot of boundaries. Australia are going to have to take the pace off it."
A total of 11 runs from the over but that is now the required rate for the rest of the innings.
Latif, hands right at the bottom of the handle, hoists a Faulkner slower ball into the stands for his first maximum.

Our star number four and bus driver (Australian) made a 9.5 hr drive from Vilnius in Lithuania to Tallinn in Estonia into 13hrs hell ride by heading off to Belarus. Our plan was to leave Vilnius in the evening and sleep through the night on the bus, arrive early and sleep at the ground. Fresh for 11am start. In the end we arrived 10mins before the game. When we did arrive the ground had been floated out by a torrential downpour…

Baby-faced leg-spinner Adam Zampa is into the attack with his Warne-esque slow, menacing approach to the crease. Just singles scored to stem the flurry of fours.
Down the wicket from Umar who swishes tennis-style to the mid-wicket fence, then a more conventional off-drive rockets away for four more and the crowd are revived by this thrilling rearguard action, 17 from the over.

"What a shot that is. Watson almost whistles as if to say 'you know what, lad, that's a decent shot'."
Shane Watson into the attack and his second ball is smeared into the stands by Umar Akmal.
Two new batsmen at the crease and it is not looking good for Pakistan's chances in the tournament. Lose this and it is all over remember. Australia made 52-2 from their six powerplay overs.

"That's a really important breakthrough. If Sharjeel had kept going, there would have been real danger. It just kept a touch low."

"Umar Akmal is a better cricketer if he gives himself time. He can go at 12 or 15 an over if he gets himself in."
Sharjeel b Faulkner 30 (Pkn 40-2)
Oh Sharjeel the fun is over again. James Faulkner had tried a back-of-the-hand slower one with his first ball and that had been thumped for Sharjeel's sixth four but then the left-arm seamer gets through and rattles the timbers.
Latif pulls Hazlewood away for his first boundary but the required rate is over 10 now. Click on the highlights tab now to see those three boundaries in an over from the dashing Sharjeel.

"Steve Smith has the perfect field set for Sharjeel, he's just picking the gaps."
Long may it continue Simon. Minimal foot movement but fantastic bat speed, Sharjeel carves Coulter-Nile into the leg-side for four more and it always seems to look more exciting when it is a fluent left-hander. Aaron Finch saves another boundary with some smart work on the rope.

"It's such a contrast watching the two of them bat. Shehzad was trying to do too much, but Sharjeel kept it simple. It was a straightforward catch for Coulter-Nile."
