  2. Eng 155-9published at 20 overs

Curtly Ambrose looks as focused as he has ever done down on the West Indies bench. He claps as a diving stop from Charles prevents Rashid finding the rope from the final ball. England see out the overs, but that is scant consolation. They need to bowl and field like demons now.

Andre Russell bowls the last. Jordan hits his third ball for a much-needed boundary for England. 150 up.

"They have been in some holes in this tournament, England, and they have managed to clamber out, but this feels like the deepest now."

  6. Eng 145-9published at 19 overs

Adil Rashid may well be the best number 11 in the world. Not that this is any comfort to England. He is off the mark, but only with a single. Well bowled Dwayne Bravo. He finishes with 3-37.

"Yet another off cutter from Bravo, Badree had to make a lot of ground to his right to take the catch."

    Plunkett c b Bravo 4 (Eng 142-9)

Bravo strikes again. Plunkett twice takes him for two before a big swing loops the ball to backward point, where the diving Badree claims the catch. The spinner has hurt himself taking that, and has to follow Plunkett off the field. He hss done his job, though, with the ball and in the field. You would presume he won't be needed again.

  9. Eng 138-8published at 18 overs

Liam Plunkett is promoted. He is a big fella, and he can hit a big ball. Brathwaite thinks he has him lbw, but the ball was going down. Two very big overs coming up. Can England somehow salvage a competitive score?

"Just for a moment it looked as if the fielder might have got that wrong."

  11. wicket

    Willey c Charles b Brathwaite 21 (Eng 136-8)

Again, just as England were getting going again, the West Indies strike to halt them in their tracks. Willey smashes a straight four but then fails to properly connect with a pull and is caught by the diving Johnson Charles, running in from cow corner.

"England have three more overs. They need a bit of Willey in that mode. If you finish well the whole mood changes as we saw in the women's game."

Willey is on a mission. He stands and swings hard to hammer Bravo over his head for six. As Anchorman's Champ Kind would say, whammy!

  15. 6 runs

    Eng 124-7published at 16.3 overs

England need something special. Willey goes in search of it with a huge swipe over midwicket and into the stand off Bravo. A few more of those please David.

"No real progress there for England. A little chat between Willey and Jordan, what is difficult for these guys is tuning up to all the variations in pace you get. Russell and Bravo have bewildered them and England need magical overs from somewhere."

"Russell is having a good tournament, there is probably 20 kmh between those last two deliveries. The notion that West Indies are not a clever side with the ball in their hands is preposterous."

  18. Eng 117-7 (Run-rate 7.31)published at 16 overs

Just two runs off the over. England look a beaten side.

"The West Indies have only really been threatened during that partnership between Root, who played really well, and Buttler. Since then it has all slotted into place."

  20. Eng 116-7published at 15.3 overs

Andre Russell is flying in to the crease now, boosted by the superior position of his side. Willey and Jordan have to be positive, but the bowling is too good.
