  1. Eng 115-7published at 15 overs

Brathwaite has done a superb job for his side, dismissing both of England's biggest threats: Buttler and Root.

Chris Jordan and David Willey are at the wicket now. Both can score quickly, especially the latter, but it is a massive ask for them to do so in these circumstances.

Justin Wilson: England's chances might just have gone with Root. Gutted.

David Townend: What a disaster!! Shocking shots. Stop losing your heads. Need to bowl very well to have any chance.

"Root was going for the dinky shot, he is not so good as those as Buttler. These guys left can bat but they certainly haven't batted in these sort of conditions before."

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14.1 overs

    Root c Benn b Brathwaite 54 (Eng 111-6)

Huge noise around Eden Gardens now. I can't imagine many England fans are contributing to it. Root looks to flick a Brathwaite ball over short fine leg but does not connect and loops the ball to Benn to catch. England's best player is gone. Do his side's hopes go with him? I fear they do.

"That was a wide if Moeen had left it but you instinctively play at those."

"You can feel the West Indies are already starting to celebrate, they think they have got this match."

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14 overs

    Moeen c Ramdin b Bravo 0 (Eng 110-6)

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. England crumble again. Moeen wafts his bat half-heartedly at a ball down leg and clips it to wicket-keeper Ramdin. Bravo is destroying England's hopes. Root is still there, but he has a huge job on his hands now to try and salvage a score for his side.

"West Indies have been able to take regular wickets throughout and it always worries you when there are wickets at regular intervals."

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.4 overs

    Stokes c Simmons b Bravo 13 (Eng 110-4)

Bravo Bravo. He digs in a quicker ball that does for Stokes as he looks to pull but can't swivel quick enough and loops a simple catch to Lendl Simmons at backward point. Again, England's progress is checked.

Gary Vinten: If we're not careful, this could turn into a cricket score.

MoMo AVFC: Joe Root does it on one of the biggest stages, whilst all around him are losing their heads. Sign of his quality.

  12. Eng 110-4published at 13.3 overs

Root methodically counts the fielders and then picks a gap at backward point off Bravo's first ball. Brilliant. He then hands over to Stokes, who picks up two with a flick square.

"You just feel Sammy made a bit of an error bringing himself on, he hasn't really bowled in this tournament."

It is all about Root taking this game as deep as possible. He got that brilliant 83 against South Africa and if England can keep this partnership until 16 overs it could be a good platform."

  15. 50 runs

50 for Rootpublished at 13 overs

    Eng 103-4

Root brings his 50 up with a flick to midwicket. Just the 33 balls needed to bring it up - the joint-fastest 50 in a World T20 final. He is some player. Stokes then joins the party with a pull wide of the man in the deep for four. I think it was an error for Sammy to throw the ball to, er, himself.

  16. Eng 96-4published at 12.3 overs

Windies skipper Darren Sammy takes over with the ball and is top-edged for two by Root, clearing Benn at short fine-leg. Root makes no mistake next ball, chopping away to the rope. Class.

Ben Sutton: Big wicket that. Need a Stokesy special now.

Dean Hardman: World 20/20. It's the hope that kills you.

  18. Eng 89-4published at 12 overs

Ben Stokes is the new man. He is more than capable of picking off where Buttler left off. But the time he takes to acclimatize to the situation will be key. He starts with two runs, whipped to midwicket. Lots of responsibility on Root. But if any English player can handle it, it is he.

"You can just feel the whole mood has changed. Buttler tried to get his hands through it but was not set maybe as well as he would have liked and that throws it back in West Indies' favour."

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11.2 overs

    Buttler c Bravo b Brathwaite 36 (Eng 84-4)

A big blow for England. Buttler was just starting to accelerate but he picks out the man at deep midwicket as he gets a bit tied up by Brathwaite. Bravo takes the catch and does a little jig. He knows how important that wicket is for his side.
