Really enjoyed clicking play on all videos of all the England wickets simultaneously. Soaking in the sound of many wickets being taken all at the same time. Everybody should try it.

"The pleasing aspect for England was that it wasn't the old firm of Anderson and Broad, it was the young thrusters of Finn - who hasn't been in great form - and Woakes who have done the damage."

  14. Lunch - SL 218-6published at 13:03

Hello there! No sign of Kusal Perera playing for lunch, the little left-hander biffing Steven Finn straight and high for four. Overhead, no fewer than four helicopters fly across HQ as the session comes to an end. Perfect morning for England, five wickets have put them in control of this match.

Alastair, you're the captain, you don't need to be at silly point. Cook, with no pads, takes a drive from Kusal Perera right on the knee cap. No pain shown at first, then a hobble and a big grimace. One to go before lunch and presumably an ice pack for the CBE.

"Thirimanne was pushing away from his body. He's batted a lot of time in this series but he hasn't got very much to show for it."

"That was unnecessary. After looking good, Thirimanne has to be really kicking himself - he was the man to take Sri Lanka through."

England are back on the charge and the Sri Lankan tails is set to be exposed to the second new ball. It's poor from Lahiru Thirimanne, driving at a ball that simply isn't there. Joe Root does the business at third slip to give Steven Finn a third wicket. That's five for England this morning, they're well in charge of this game.

"If England can get one more, they can get to Herath, who is not the best number eight in the world. There is a chink of an opportunity for England to really get on top in this game."
