Geoffrey Boycott
Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special
"England have been excellent. I don't think anyone could have thought this might happen - Sri Lanka were 160-1 last night out and didn't look like making a breakthrough. Woakes bowled beautifully from the Pavilion End - it was good from Cook to give him the chance this morning because he was the best bowler yesterday."
Eranga c Vince b Woakes 1 (SL 288 all out)
Woakes strikes with his first ball again! That's quite a habit he's got there. Good catch by James Vince in the slips, and Sri Lanka have been bundled out.
Nuwan Pradeep the new man. Meanwhile, we think Cook may still be at the hospital having that knee looked at, so Nick Compton could be opening the batting...
Andrew Samson
BBC Test Match Special statistician
"That's 20 wickets in the series for James Anderson at an average of exactly 10."
Geoffrey Boycott
Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special
"England were outstanding this morning, 10 out of 10. This afternoon they got a bit carried away with the new ball, searching for wickets. Now the game is moving on. There's time enough for England to win unless there's rain."
Lakmal c Root b Anderson 0 (SL 288-9)
Joe Root really is turning into a very fine slipper. He moves early, gets low, and hoovers this chance up inches from the turf. Lakmal had prodded limply at Anderson.
Geoffrey Boycott
Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special
"Give him out, for crying out loud. They can't make a decision any more."
Has Lakmal edged Anderson to slip? The soft signal is out, but we're going to check...

Eranga edges just short of Anderson at first slip. Would Cook have been standing an inch or two further forward? We'll never know...
So, Suranga Lakmal joins Eranga. That wicket, by the way, means Anderson and Broad are the most prolific new-ball partnership in the history of Test cricket - they now have 494 wickets to Wasim and Waqar's 493.
Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
"He just fancied that big space on the leg side - the whole of mid-wicket was available to him. Given the quality of the Sri Lanka tail, he felt he had to chance his arm. That's a shame because, given more time, he will score plenty of runs for Sri Lanka in the future."
Perera c Bairstow b Anderson 42 (SL 288-7)
Perera goes for the aggressive option once too often. Down the track, wild, cross-batted swish at Anderson, thin tickle off the toe, pouched by YJB. Sri Lanka almost done here...
SL 288-7
Ooh, that's unlucky. Banged in hard by Anderson, takes the handle of Perera's bat and balloons to Joe Root, who goes goalkeeper-style at third slip but can only tip it over the bar. Perera meanwhile needs the magic spray...

EarnestlyHemingway: Some definite appreciation for Perera in the Mound Stand, and not just from the small contingent of Sri Lanka supporters.
Oh, that's lovely from Broad, right on that testing length that's not quite drivable and not quite defendable, just leaving the batsman after it pitched. But Perera, who is playing an excellent hand here, responds with a swipe through backward square leg for four. He can't get a single off the last, however...
