Sadly, that's it - the umpires have ruled that there's no way of getting another 16 overs in for it to constitute a match, so it's a no result.

England lead the series 1-0 with two games still to play.

"Tymal is the quickest bowler I've ever faced. He's a massive unit running down the hill at Hove, and bowls thunderbolts, but he's also developed a slower ball. Dawid has consistently scored runs and warrants a go, so I don't know what happens when Hales comes back."

Graeme Swann: "Mills has that X factor. Even if he goes for 15 an over, he can bowl rockets. He hit me on the forearm before the Ashes, on the slowest pitch ever."

"People talk about Mark Wood, but I've played a lot with him and I don't see the comparison. There's a young lad at Yorkshire called Matthew Fisher who's only 18 and is very promising. He swings it both ways at a good pace."

Graeme Swann: "Jimmy is a genuine swing bowler, you haven't got a like-for-like replacement. I've not seen much of the Overton brothers at Somerset but I've heard a lot about them. And I've always liked Jack Brooks, who's absolutely crackers."

"David Sales. Great batsman but never fitted the bill of a Duncan Fletcher player. And despite his size, he was an agile fielder. Glenn Chapple was incredible but every time he got into the one-day squad he'd get injured. James Kirtley always got picked ahead of him. And Jason Lewry, the left-arm seamer from Sussex... Peter Moores once tried to convince him to be nightwatchman. He said 'Peter, if you make me nightwatchman, I will get out'."

"The first time I was captain of Leicestershire, we were bowled our for 28! Imagine if I'd said no... I don't think I would have been ready. But it's a hard one to turn down."

Graeme Swann: "I would have been a poor captain as I'd have struggled to contain my temper on the field. But tactically, I'd have done it at the drop of a hat."

"Joe Root should never be England captain. He's the worst option ever. He's a world-class batsman, he's like an annoying little brother in the dressing-room and that's part of his character. Root will want to be captain, but I think it would detract from his form. This man James Taylor was one I thought was a future captain. But not many are putting their hands up. Because he's from Sheffield, from the same club as Michael Vaughan, people just assume he'll be captain. Why not Alastair Cook for the next two-and-a-half years until someone else comes up? Stuart Broad could do it, even on an interim basis. Broad has an incredible cricket brain."

"I was more nervous about getting off the mark, than I was as a bowler. I was never nervy with the ball, but the first time I was asked to bowl, I had jelly legs. The first ball was a horrendous long-hop was cut for four, but I got two wickets in the next five balls.

"Sometimes the Test might come round at the right time against the right team, and people get 100 on debut. Some get lucky, some don't."

"I came in the middle of a series and had to play against the number one team in the world [South Africa]. I never thought I'd be playing Test cricket that summer. I had scored a hundred for the Lions against West Indies, but Jonny Bairstow was picked ahead of me. South Africa were the best bowling attack in the world, but I was more excited rather than nervous."

James Taylor: "Scott's earned the right through weight of runs, for the last three years. He's banging that door down and rightly so, but there are a couple of guys who shouldn't be forgotten, such as Sam Robson. Maybe in a couple of years, Joe Clarke from Worcester."

"No. His batting has usurped his bowling. It's about learning to bowl well in difficult conditions which will turn him more into a Test player. Durham has done no end of good for his batting, and spinners don't bowl many overs round the country any more. I think he should be in the team, I'd have gone for him at three in the third Test against Sri Lanka."
