"England have a fantastic squad of players. They have 19 or 20 players. What else do they need? Possibly someone who swings the ball. The bowling attack they have got here is pretty much on the spot."

  3. 'Playing Test cricket is the dream'published at 18:35 British Summer Time 2 July 2016

Man of the series Jason Roy: "There are some things to improve on. We haven’t done the complete fielding game yet. We’re not there yet and now we have a quick turnaround till the Pakistan series.

"I’d like to score a lot of runs for Surrey in the four-day stuff and push my name forward. Playing Test cricket is the dream but it’s a gradual path."

More from England captain Eoin Morgan: "Our fielding was better, the discipline was better and we adapted to conditions better in what were more sub-continental conditions.

"The belief in the changing room has been outstanding. Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Joe Buttler, Joe Root - everybody has contributed with the bat apart from myself.

"We've got better throughout the series but we've grown together and got closer as a side."

  5. 'Stoked to win the series'published at 18:32 British Summer Time 2 July 2016

England batsman Jason Roy: "Just scoring over 60 is pleasing. I’ve been getting 40s and 30s and getting out, so to convert them was good.

"The key was to just recognise how bad that feeling is to get out at 40 and 30. I’ve put in a lot of hard work. Respect to the coaches who helped me along the way. I’m stoked to win the series.

"Vince is a class batsman. I’m extremely happy for the boy."

"Great credit to England for fronting up today. They have dominated Sri Lanka in the Tests and in this series. But they played a ruthless brand of cricket - they have sustained the pressure with bat and ball.

"Their fielding has been slick, their bowling has been efficient, their batting has been deep. Their depth, their range, their ability has been excellent."

  7. 'We can improve'published at 18:31 British Summer Time 2 July 2016

Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews: "We've been having the same problems over the last five weeks. Either batting, bowling or fielding has let us down. We needed a perfect performance to beat England but they played very well. It was not a 324 wicket. It was a poor game for us.

"Our running was poor in the last five games. We need to improve in lots of areas. Credit to England for putting us under so much pressure.

"The first game was a big game and England did well to tie and get the momentum. We went down from there.

"There are positives and we can improve. We are a young group."

  8. 'We were ruthless today'published at 18:28 British Summer Time 2 July 2016

Man of the match Jos Buttler, who made 70 off 45 balls, on TMS: "Today was a really ruthless performance. It's a great end to the series for us and I was delighted to contribute as well.

"We are playing some really good cricket. We've grown in stature and grown in confidence - playing a few more games and knowing yourself at international cricket is great for everyone. We just keep moving forward as a team - it's been good fun."

"Jos Buttler is worth the admission money alone with some of the shots he plays. The way he wields his bat is incredible. It was exhilarating while he was there."

Man of the match Jos Buttler: "I've had a bit of success and felt in good form. It was good to contribute to a good performance and a fitting end to the series. Respect to Jason Roy, he has been fantastic through the series. It shows the strength of the side that we can done the business when called upon.

"I just take every day as it comes. Whatever colour the ball is, I will try to score as well as I can."

"Eoin Morgan absolutely deserves his place in the team. He has commanded a respect in the team without trying to do it. He has got real leadership qualities.

"Joe Root is your cheeky little brother. It will ruin his game if we make him captain - and I will pull my hair out on air if we do that."

  12. Postpublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 2 July 2016

England captain Eoin Morgan on Test Match Special: "I'm a very happy captain. We've put in probably our most convincing performance of the series. We were really rusty at the start of the series - we needed to duty off the cobwebs a little."

"James Vince on home soil was outstanding, he was supported well by Jason Roy, and Joe Root was back to his best."

On his poor form with the bat: "It leaves a lot to be desired at the moment. I've been working really hard. I need a score. I haven't batted much but I'm working hard to get one and I believe I will."

"The exciting thing for me is who will win man of the series. Jason Roy will win it but you could make a good case for a few of the players: David Willey, Liam Plunkett, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid. Rashid could have bowled himself into Test contention again in this series."

"They haven't been really tested. Sri Lanka aren't particularly strong - they are a young side and players have been injured.

"England have improved. They've made a step forward in this series but I'd like to see them up against a better team."
