    Leicestershire 178-5 v Northamptonshire 123-3

Leicestershire utilise the medium-pace of Neil Dexter and Kevin O'Brien after the rain break and Northants only manage one boundary. They need 42 from 30 balls to reach their revised target of 164.

  2. Rate climbs for Essexpublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Surrey 170-8 v Essex 57-3 (10 overs)

Essex have only hit two boundaries in the last five overs and now need to score at almost 11 and a half an over for the remainder if they are to win the game. Tom Westley has 32 not out and Ryan ten Doeschate is on eight.

Don't forget that Azhar Mahmood is on a hat-trick whenever Surrey skipper Gareth Batty decides to bring him back into the attack.

  3. BIRMINGHAM BEAT NOTTINGHAMSHIREpublished at 21:25 British Summer Time 20 May 2016
    Breaking

Birmingham 185-4 (19.4 overs) beat Nottinghamshire 179-7 (20 overs) by two wickets

Chris Woakes finishes Birmingham's run chase in style with two balls to spare, smashing Nottinghamshire seamer Luke Fletcher over the boundary for six runs.

Riki Wessels (52), Greg Smith (43) and Dan Christian (34) had all contributed for Notts in the first innings, but the Outlaws lost wickets at regular intervals on a good batting track.

Birmingham's reply got off to a shaky start with only one run from the first two overs, but Sam Hain's unbeaten 92 runs from 54 deliveries saw the Bears through in comfortable fashion.

  4. Revised targetpublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Leicestershire 178-5 v Northamptonshire 111-3 (11 overs)

Following the rain interruption at Grace Road, Northants now need 164 from 18 overs.

  5. SUSSEX BEAT GLOUCESTERSHIREpublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 20 May 2016
    Breaking

Sussex 242-5 (20 overs) beat Gloucestershire 83-1 (7.3 overs) by 1 run on D/L method

Heartbreak for Gloucestershire, who are denied the chance to chase down Sussex's club-record 242-5 by the weather.

New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor did most of the damage for the visitors at Bristol, scoring a brilliant unbeaten 93 from 48 balls on his debut for the Sharks.

Michael Klinger responded with 42 from 24 deliveries in Gloucestershire's reply, but the captain's knock just wasn't quite enough.

  6. wicket

WICKET Denly (c Leask b Groenewald 75)published at 21:21 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Somerset 197-7 v Kent 153-1 (13 overs)

Kent opener Joe Denly goes for 75, caught on the square leg boundary by Michael Leask off Tim Groenewald.

But he's already done all the hard work for his side. Kent only need 45 off 42 balls.

  7. Postpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Nottinghamshire 179-7 v Birmingham 163-4 (18 overs)

Sam Hain's magnificent T20 debut innings has Birmingham on the verge of victory at Nottinghamshire.

The visitors require just 17 runs from the final two overs, but Hain would need 16 of them to each his century.

  8. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Surrey 170-8 v Essex 35-3 (6 overs)

Tom Westley whips the ball to mid-wicket where England's Jason Roy spills the chance. That wasn't a difficult one and Mathew Pillans has a rueful look on his face as he walks back to his mark. Surrey in a good position overall, though.

  10. wicket

WICKET Ronchi (c Mullaney b Christian 22)published at 21:12 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Nottinghamshire 179-7 v Birmingham 148-4 (16.3 overs)

I was all set to tell you how Luke Ronchi was leading Birmingham to victory at Notts, but the New Zealand wicketkeeper falls to an excellent catch by Steven Mullaney off the bowling of Dan Christian.

Ronchi bludgeoned 22 runs from only 10 balls to put the Bears within sight of the finishing line, but he can't see the job out.

  11. 50 runs

Joe Denly hits a half-centurypublished at 21:12 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Somerset 197-7 v Kent 128-0 (11 overs)

Joe Denly follows his opening partner to a fifty in spectacular style.

He smashes Jamie Overton for two fours and six to move to 63 off 33 balls.

Daniel Bell-Drummond has exactly the same stats. This is some of the cleanest hitting you are likely to see - and we've already seen a fair bit of that this evening!

  12. wicket

WICKET Ryder (c Wilson b Mahmood 13)published at 21:08 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Surrey 170-8 v Essex 26-3 (4 overs)

Azhar Mahmood celebrates wicketImage source, Rex Features

Azhar Mahmood is having a great game for Surrey and he bamboozles Jesse Ryder with a slow bouncer which the New Zealander tries to pull away, but only succeeds in top-edging to the keeper.

The next delivery is angled down the leg-side but teenager Dan Lawrence gets a thin edge and heads back to the dugout with a golden quacker to his name. Mahmood on a hat-trick at the start of his next over.

  13. Kent openers smashing it to all partspublished at 21:07 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Somerset 197-7 v Kent 112-0 (10 overs)

Daniel Bell-Drummond and Joe Denly are making this chase of 198 look like a walk in the park.

Bell-Drummond launches Somerset leg-spinner Max Waller for six, then two balls later Denly does the same.

Kent need 86 off 60 balls.

Fifty for Daniel Bell-Drummondpublished at 21:02 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Somerset 197-7 v Kent 84-0 (8 overs)

Big things are expected of Kent opener Daniel Bell-Drummond this season, and he's off to a fine start in the T20 Blast.

The 22-year-old Londoner brings up his half-century off 28 balls.

Kent are now favourites for this one.

  16. wicket

WICKET Evans (lbw b Wood 10)published at 21:01 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Nottinghamshire 179-7 v Birmingham 115-3 (14 overs)

Another wicket falls at Trent Bridge, Nottinghamshire off-spinner Sam Wood pinning Laurie Evans lbw for 10.

The required run rate has climbed to 10.83, but Birmingham will still feel confident while T20 Blast debutant Sam Hain remains at the crease - he currently has 62 runs from 41 balls.

  17. wicket

    WICKET Bopara (c Mahmood b S Curran 1)published at 20:56 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Surrey 170-8 v Essex 2-1 (1 over)

Teenager Sam Curran digs in a short one to end the opening over and Ravi Bopara skies an attempted pull which is taken safely by Surrey's player-coach. Tom Westley joins Jesse Ryder who is sporting a do-rag under his helmet a la Chris Gayle - or maybe Gayle wears one a la Jesse Ryder?

  18. Postpublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Somerset 197-7 v Kent 68-0 (6 overs)

That's as good a six-over Poweplay as you are likely to see from Kent.

Daniel Bell-Drummond (46 not out) and Joe Denly (21 not out) are ticking along at more than 11 an over.

Kent need 130 off 14 overs.

  19. wicket

WICKET Porterfield (b Patel 26)published at 20:51 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Nottinghamshire 179-7 v Birmingham 94-2 (11 overs)

He was given a reprieve with Will Smith's dropped catch a few minutes ago, but Will Porterfield is gone this time as Nottinghamshire spinner Samit Patel clean bowls the Ireland captain.

Birmingham are still the favourites from here, but one or two more wickets could yet tip the balance back to the Outlaws.

  20. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Leicestershire 178-5 v Northamptonshire 111-3 (10 overs)

Spinner Jigar Naik concedes five wides from the first ball of the 10th over and Northants reach the halfway point of their innings, requiring another 72 for victory.

Rain is in the air, however, and the umpires decide to take the players off at the end of the next, which is a good one by Kevin O'Brien that only costs four runs.

The visitors are ahead on Duckworth-Lewis at the moment....but don't quote me on that.
