It's 12 years since Glamorgan reached the semi-finals of the domestic T20 competition, but they have pulled off quite a coup for this year's tournament by signing South African paceman Dale Steyn.

Still in many people's eyes, the best fast bowler in world cricket, the 32-year-old has taken 639 wickets for the Proteas in all forms of the game - including 58 in 42 T20 internationals.

Steyn will play in Glamorgan's first seven games - starting at The Oval against Surrey next Thursday - before handing over to Australian T20 specialist Shaun Tait.

"I'll do all I can to give the team the best possible start," he said.

Nothing much has changed from last year - the 18 teams are separated into two groups of nine, North and South.

Each side will play 14 group games with the top four from the North and South qualifying for the quarter-finals.

Finals Day takes place at Edgbaston, a weekend earlier than 2015, on 20 August.

    Worcestershire v Durham (17:30 BST)

Two months ago, Mitchell Santner was a member of the New Zealand team beaten by England in the semi-finals of the World T20.

The 24-year-old all-rounder had a first taste of county cricket when he played in Worcestershire's Championship game against Glamorgan - and is now looking forward to helping the Rapids in the T20 Blast.

"It should be a good experience and hopefully I can help Worcestershire out with a few wins. They have done pretty well in the last few T20 competitions," he told BBC Hereford & Worcester.

"T20 cricket these days is played on pretty flat wickets, but I am excited. I talked to Colin Munro and Mitchell McClenaghan, who both played for Worcestershire, about what to expect, what the wickets are going to do.”

  14. Third time lucky for Lancspublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

The last time we joined you for T20 Blast action was back in August for Finals Day 2015, when Lancashire claimed their maiden title, having finished runners-up on two previous occasions.

Alex Davies' 47 from 26 balls led the way for Lightning as they set Northants 167 to win at Edgbaston.

The Steelbacks looked on track to chase down Lancashire's target at 74-2 from 10 overs, but they could not up the run rate and fell 14 runs short of the target.

Earlier, the Red Rose had cruised to a six-wicket win over Hampshire, and Northants chased down defending champions Birmingham's 131-6 with two overs to spare in the other semi-final.

This year, Lancashire will be looking to make it to their third consecutive Finals Day appearance, while Worcestershire and Derbyshire will attempt to end their runs as the only teams never to make the last four.
