    Worcestershire 225-6 v Durham 69-1 (7 overs)

It's not an evening to be a bowler at New Road. Brett D'Oliveira goes for 12 in his first of the night including a big six from Graham Clark.

Durham are making a fist of this chase of 226 - but still need 157 off 13 overs.

  2. wicket

WICKET Smith (c Hain b Patel 43)published at 19:21 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Nottinghamshire 101-3 v Birmingham (12.1 overs)

No sooner had I written that Birmingham needed to break Nottinghamshire batsmen Riki Wessels and Greg Smith's partnership, than Smith sweeps a Jeetan Patel delivery into the grateful hands of Sam Hain.

Smith's dismissal brings Outlaws captain Dan Christian to the crease.

  3. wicket

WICKET Pettini (lbw White 43)published at 19:19 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Leicestershire 97-3 v Northamptonshire (12 overs)

Left-arm spinner Graeme White is the sixth man into the attack for the Steelbacks and the change pays off as he takes the important wicket of Mark Pettini, whose 43 came off 35 balls, with seven fours.

Northants have managed to check the Leicestershire scoring rate and they need to pick up again quickly.

  4. Steady start for Somersetpublished at 19:19 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Somerset 36-1 v Kent (5 overs)

It's not the usual gung-ho tactics we're used to seeing from Marcus Trescothick, but Somerset are off to a decent start at Canterbury.

They've lost the wicket of Johann Myburgh, but Jim Allenby and Peter Trego are just beginning to find their feet.

Both are very dangerous T20 batsmen.

  5. Notts fight back against Bearspublished at 19:19 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Nottinghamshire 101-2 v Birmingham (12 overs)

Nottinghamshire are building a decent total after struggling in the opening stages against visitors Birmingham.

The Bears need to break the current partnership between Riki Wessels and Greg Smith, which is currently worth 83 from 8.2 overs.

  6. wicket

WICKET Stoneman (b Leach 25)published at 19:13 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Worcestershire 225-6 v Durham 29-1 (3.1 overs)

Durham's near-impossible task becomes a lot harder as Mark Stoneman is bowled by Joe Leach's first ball.

The required run-rate is already at 11.5.

  7. wicket

    WICKET O'Brien (c Cobb b Prasanna 14)published at 19:11 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Leicestershire 84-2 v Northamptonshire (10 overs)

Kevin O'Brien flexes his muscles by launching Steven Crook over extra cover for six.

The leg-spin of Seekkuge Prasanna poses a different challenge, however, and he doesn't get all of another attempted big hit, with Josh Cobb taking the catch safely. Umar Akmal is next in for the Foxes, with the innings reaching a crucial phase, but there is a dark cloud in the vicinity.

  8. Postpublished at 19:11 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Worcestershire 225-6 v Durham 29-0 (3 overs)

It's a nice positive start for Durham and opener Mark Stoneman who has hit five boundaries in his 25 - but the Jets are already behind the required run rate.

    197 needed off 17 overs.

  9. Taylor well set for Sharkspublished at 19:10 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Sussex 96-2 v Gloucestershire (10 overs)

New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor looks in ominous form for Sussex at Gloucestershire, launching sixes in consecutive overs to move on to 24 from 17 balls.

The visitors are on track to post a huge total for the hosts to chase, sitting comfortably at 96-2 at the midway point.

We asked earlier if Worcestershire fans thought their side could reach Finals Day for the first time?

Well, they've made some statement of intent, scoring 225-6 against Durham this evening.

  11. wicket

WICKET Cosgrove (lbw Azharullah 27)published at 19:01 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Leicestershire 68-1 v Northamptonshire (7 overs)

The two Marks - Pettini and Cosgrove - raise the 50 from only 28 balls and the latter's seventh-over dismissal is a relief to the Steelbacks. Ireland's Kevin O'Brien comes out to join Pettini, he's a man who knows how to clear a boundary rope.

Leicestershire should be mindful, though, that their last four completed games against Northants have been won by the team batting second.

Birmingham I feel have done a good job, and for Chris Wright to get two wickets in three balls shows he's really up for this season."

Riki Wessels is leading the way for hosts Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge with 27 from 18 balls at the end of the Powerplay, but visitors Birmingham can be happy with their efforts so far.

Chris Wright has both of the wickets, but all of the Bears bowlers have kept things pretty tight so far.

Surrey v Essex (starts 19:15 BST)

Essex have won the toss at Chelmsford and opted to bowl - very much the preferred tactic for most teams this evening.

Surrey include 41-year-old player-coach Azhar Mahmood, with Sam Curran joining elder brother Tom in the side. Mahmood's Pakistan compatriot Wahab Riaz makes his debut for Essex, who are skippered by Ravi Bopara. The 30-year-old left-armer has taken 130 wickets in 114 T20 games, with a strike-rate of 18.3.

    Kent v Somerset (19:00 BST)

Somerset have won the toss at Canterbury and elected to bat.

Kent have the in-form Daniel Bell-Drummond and Joe Denly opening for them, with Darren Stevens providing the power in the middle order.

Somerset are without Marcus Trescothick, so Johann Myburgh opens with Jim Allenby.

Kent: Bell-Drummond, Denly, Northeast, Stevens, Blake, Cowdrey, Rouse, Coles, Tredwell, Claydon, Griffiths.

Somerset: Myburgh, Allenby, Trego, Hildreth, van der Merwe, Groenewald, Davies, Leask, J Overton, Waller, Arafat.

  15. Glos peg back Sussex assaultpublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Sussex 63-2 v Gloucestershire (6 overs)

Sussex made a strong start at Bristol, racing to 44-0 from their first four overs, but Gloucestershire have got back on track with two quick wickets.

Chris Nash made 30 from 17 deliveries before he was bowled by Craig Miles, while Philip Salt has fallen for 24 from 12 balls on his T20 Blast debut.

The hosts may feel they need another wicket sooner than later, with Sussex still well set on 63-2 after the Powerplay.

  16. Worcestershire Rapids make 225published at 18:52 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Worcestershire 225-6 v Durham (20 overs)

So there you have it, the first innings in this season's T20 Blast yields 225 runs. Who needs the IPL?!

Worcestershire opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore made a brilliant 127 off 54 balls including eight maximums, while Brett D'Oliveira continued his fine form with an unbeaten 39 off 21 balls.

The light is becoming gloomy at New Road though. I hope we're not in for a repeat of the 2015 quarter-final against Hampshire when play was halted.

  17. Wickets tumble at Trent Bridgepublished at 18:50 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Nottinghamshire 28-2 v Birmingham (4 overs)

Nottinghamshire were being kept quiet by visitors Birmingham through the first three overs, and the pressure finally tells on the Outlaws' batsmen.

Michael Lumb is caught in the deep trying to launch Chris Wright over the ropes, and Sam Wood repeats the trick as he's caught on the boundary by Chris Woakes two balls later.

It's not all bad news for the hosts though, as Riki Wessels hits ten runs off the final two balls of Wright's over.

  18. 200 runs

200 UP FOR THE RAPIDSpublished at 18:46 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Worcestershire 207-6 v Durham (19 overs)

It's hardly surprising when your opening batsman scores 127 off 54 balls, but Worcestershire go past 200 as Brett D'Oliveira and Joe Leach both hit Barry McCarthy for maximums.

McCarthy's figures on debut do not make pretty reading - four overs, 1-63.

  19. Foxes make positive startpublished at 18:43 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Leicestershire 32-0 (3 overs) v Northamptonshire

Mark Pettini sets the tone for Leicestershire's innings by square cutting Rory Kleinveldt for four from the third ball of their innings. The South African doesn't heed the line lesson and the Foxes skipper picks up three more fours in Kleinveldt's second over. It ends with Mark Cosgrove clipping Kleinveldt away and Graeme White makes a hash of the boundary save, conceding four more.

  20. Worcestershire approaching 200published at 18:42 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Worcestershire 188-6 v Durham (18 overs)

The momentum has gone out of Worcestershire's innings a little since Tom Kohler-Cadmore was out for 127.

However, the Rapids are still on for more than 200 with two overs to go at New Road.
