    Nottinghamshire 179-7 v Birmingham (20 overs)

They were on the back foot early on, but Nottinghamshire recover well to set Birmingham 180 to win at Trent Bridge.

Jeetan Patel's 3-23 was vital in keeping the hosts in check, with both teams likely to feel they have a good chance of winning this one.

  2. Sussex make record totalpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Sussex 242-5 v Gloucestershire

Ross Taylor's brilliant 93 from 48 balls helps Sussex to their highest ever score in Twenty20 cricket, beating the 239-5 set against Glamorgan in 2010.

Matt Machan also hit 31 from 12 deliveries as the Sharks made the 12th biggest total by any team in this form of the game

Gloucestershire have lost five of their last seven games against Sussex in this format. It would be a brave punter who'd bet on them to improve that record tonight.

  3. Surrey lose top orderpublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Surrey 71-4 v Essex (8.1 overs)

Surrey's run-rate is healthy but wickets keep falling at regular intervals. Kumar Sangakkara tries to flip the ball away on the leg-side, but mistimes the shot and is caught by Wahab Riaz for 32, a third victim for Matt Quinn. Rory Burns is next to go as Graham Napier shows a safe pair of hands.

  7. Leicestershire post tough targetpublished at 19:51 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Leicestershire 178-5 v Northamptonshire (20 overs)

Pace bowler Azharullah likes the T20 format, but his four overs cost 33 as Umar Akmal spoils his his last by hammering the ball away over the Leicestershire dugout for his third six.

Olly Stone has the ball for the final over and Tom Wells clears long on for another maximum for the Foxes before putting away a full toss for four through square leg.

His innings is ended by Rob Keogh's excellent running catch at third man, but Akmal clears extra cover for four and brings up a 32-ball fifty with a thick-edge boundary as the last over costs Northants 23 runs, finishing on 52 not out.

    Somerset 123-1 v Kent (12 overs)

Somerset all-rounder Peter Trego brings up a 26-ball half-century with his fourth six.

Kent spinner Fabian Cowdrey is the unlucky bowler on the end of Trego's fireworks.

Somerset are well on for 200 or more here.

  12. Roy raises the tempopublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Surrey 54-1 v Essex (5 overs)

Jason Roy greets Essex new boy Wahab Riaz by mowing him away over the in-field for two successive fours, but almost drags the ball onto his stumps next ball as the Pakistani left-armer digs in a slow bouncer.

A single by Roy brings up Surrey's 50 before Kumar Sangakkara strokes the final delivery to the point boundary.

  13. 50 runs

Jim Allenby hits a half-centurypublished at 19:39 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Somerset 96-1 v Kent (10 overs)

Jim Allenby brings up his fifty for Somerset off 32 balls with seven fours and one maximum.

He's putting his side into a very strong position here, with Peter Trego ready to tee off at the other end.

  14. Postpublished at 19:39 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Nottinghamshire 140-5 v Birmingham (16 overs)

This is a fantastic game of cricket at Trent Bridge, though I doubt Recordo Gordon is enjoying it quite so much.

The Birmingham seamer finishes with figures of 0-58 from four overs, with Notts captain Dan Christian smashing three sixes off the Jamaican's final over.

  15. Santner takes two wicketspublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

Worcestershire's New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner is turning the screw at New Road.

The spinner has Graham Clark caught by Tom Kohler-Cadmore for 32 with his fourth ball and then removes Michael Richardson in the same way in his following over.

Two overs, 2-12 for the youngster and Durham's required run-rate is approaching 13 an over.

  16. dropped catch

Prasanna checks Foxespublished at 19:36 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Leicestershire 123-4 v Northamptonshire (16 overs)

Leicestershire are looking for a total around the 170 mark, but Seekkuge Prasanna produces another impressive over of leg-spin to hold them in check. Three overs for 12 runs so far by the Sri Lankan.

The start of the next over sees Azharullah slide one towards leg stump and Umar Akmal clips it away effortlessly for six, but miscues two balls later and Richard Levi gets underneath it, only to let the chance go begging. How costly will that be?

  17. wicket

Bears take momentum at Nottspublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Nottinghamshire 115-5 v Birmingham (15 overs)

Clever bowling from Jeetan Patel, who sends down a quicker delivery to bowl Riki Wessels after spotting him preparing to play a reverse sweep.

Wessels made 52 from 41 balls to get Nottinghamshire heading towards a respectable score, but Samit Patel does his best to undo all the good work as he's caught by Chris Wright at long on two balls later.

Jeetan Patel finishes with 3-23 from his four overs. Outstanding bowling as usual from the New Zealand off-spinner.

  18. Davies out early for Surreypublished at 19:31 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Surrey 29-1 v Essex (3 overs)

Surrey don't make the start they were hoping for as Steven Davies cuts Matt Quinn straight to point and goes for one. New batsman Kumar Sangakkara takes his life in his hands by calling Jason Roy through for a single and would have been gone if Ashar Zaidi's throw had hit the stumps.

The Sri Lankan then pulls Quinn emphatically for four and Roy ends the third over with a superb straight drive down the ground for another boundary.

  19. 50 runs

Taylor reaches 50 for Sharkspublished at 19:27 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Sussex 152-3 v Gloucestershire (14 overs)

Ross Taylor reaches the half-century mark on his debut for Sussex, racing to fifty from 28 deliveries with five sixes and one four.

Taylor was being supported by Ben Brown, who hit 43 from 25 balls before he was stumped off the bowling of Benny Howell.

It's little consolation for Gloucestershire, who are staring at a very challenging chase to rescue this game.

  20. Postpublished at 19:27 British Summer Time 20 May 2016

    Somerset 69-1 v Kent (7 overs)

I said Jim Allenby and Peter Trego were dangerous T20 batsman and they're both absolutely motoring now.

Allenby races to 44 off 27 balls, while all-rounder Trego is on 19 off 12. Ominous for Kent's bowlers.
