  1. Pkn 66-2 (target 379)published at 15 overs

Natalie Sciver, fresh from her swashbuckling 80 off 33 balls, is into the attack, bustling in with an unusual, rather open action and wicketkeeper Amy Jones up to the stumps. No boundaries result. England were 96-0 at the same stage.

"It's hard for teams like Pakistan, because you can feel demoralised with the scoreboard. But there's things to take away. The coach will remind them that the batting yesterday was good. If I was Javeria right now I'd be thinking it's a good wicket, the sun is shining, so there's time for me to be out there and get that knowledge."

  3. Pkn 61-2 (Javeria 24, Bismah 17)published at 14 overs

Laura Marsh skips in for a spot of spin but she is swept fine to the boundary by left-hander Bismah. The 'Maroof is on fire' line cannot be used as we are using her first name. Probably just as well.

  4. Pkn 55-2 (required rate 8.75)published at 13 overs

Javeria is not much above the stumps as she crouches to await the bowler but she has a keen eye and hoists Cross high over cow corner, it bounces once and scurries over the rope. A more aerial on drive also bounces once and goes for four more, her fifth boundary. Fifteen from the first two Cross overs.

"I'd quite like to see Heather Knight, as captain, push herself forward to bowl."

  6. Pkn 45-2 (target 379)published at 12 overs

The 55-metre boundaries offer hope to the batting side, Bismah edges Shrubsole fortuitously through the vacant slip area for four but collects a more authentic boundary next up with a deft leg glance.

"It's exciting to see players diving on the boundary trying to catch balls going for six. Last night when we watched Jos Buttler going for it, he was caught on the boundary. We don't see that often in the women's game. But the fielders are trying it, and I think we'll see that a lot in the Super League."

  8. Pkn 36-2 (Javeria 15)published at 11 overs

Kate Cross comes into the attack but Javeria drives her back down the ground for four, holding the follow through in classical position for the cameras. The Pakistan 50 is up, but it is for the number of dot balls, not runs.

  9. Going out on a limb...published at 15:10 British Summer Time 22 June 2016

  10. Pkn 31-2 (target 379)published at 10 overs

Not much to hit in the Shrubsole over for Bismah, but she finally gets off the mark with a single from her 14th delivery faced. England were 67-0 after their 10 overs of powerplay.

"I have to admit, Katherine Brunt was the bowler I struggled with most, being a left-hander and the ball coming in. She's a very good competitor, the sort of player you want in your team."

  12. Pkn 30-2 (Javeria 11)published at 9 overs

Stand and deliver again from Javeria. Hardly any foot movement, but a good eye and a rapid swing of the bat. Out towards cow corner it goes and four more to the total, not doing much for Brunt's equanimity. A rare glimpse of the sun, however, and shadows stretch across the playing area.

"For the Pakistan girls it's a case of trying to build a platform. If they get a stand going, the longer they can get a partnership going, they can maybe put a bit of pressure on England bowlers, you never know what will happen."

  14. Pkn 25-2 (Javeria 7)published at 8 overs

The first maiden of the day honour goes to the new vice-captain Shrubsole. We did not really get very close in the England innings.

  15. Pkn 25-2 (required rate 8.23)published at 7 overs

Javeria with an imperious pull shot to the mid-wicket rope. "That wasn't even short," Brunt protests. I hope that's what she said.

We hope you're enjoying these video clips. Take a look at Nahida Khan being run out by Danielle Wyatt's direct hit.

  17. Pkn 19-2 (target 379)published at 6 overs

Bismah Maroof is next to the crease and keeps out the remaining three deliveries. So, 360 required from 44 overs with eight wickets intact.

"It was full enough. I guess it just depends if it was going down leg. But it was a very good ball. Ameen is a player to look out for. It's a shame she's out because she is one of the players to take Pakistan through."

  19. wicket

Sidra lbw b Shrubsole 11 (Pkn 19-2)published at 5.3 overs

It was briefly defiant but Sidra is on her way. It angled in as usual from Shrubsole, might it have been going down the leg side? the finger was raised anyway.

  20. Pkn 18-1 (Sidra 11)published at 5 overs

Now, with all this rain in the air, a reminder that we need 20 overs in this innings to constitute a match. We have the first boundary of the innings though - two in fact - Sidra scything Brunt and then pulling a rising delivery savagely through mid-on for four more.
