One thing that often needs to be assessed at Worcester is the weather, but hopefully we will get through this 50-over contest without the need for a reserve day as occurred in the opening match played yesterday, meaning a swift turnaround for the players.

There was a great deal of controversy about the departure of the well respected Charlotte Edwards as captain but what a start Heather Knight made to her reign, becoming the first to claim five wickets in their first ODI as skipper. She also weighed in with an unbeaten 50 to guide her team to a seven-wicket victory in the opening match of the series.
