Hartley is wisely pulled out of the attack by captain Heather Knight, who brings herself on. Nawaz looks equally untroubled against her spin, though, and confidently moves on to 40.

"Maroof's played really well, so she'll be disappointed with that dismissal as she's hit a full ball straight to extra cover, and she's missed out on a big score. They just keep faltering as a team."
Maroof's got a start but has thrown it away with a loose shot. The Pakistan batter drives a full delivery from Marsh ball to extra cover where Sciver pockets the catch. England back on top.
This is turning into a difficult debut for Hartley as Maroof and Nawaz both find the boundary off the left-arm spinner. Her five overs have gone for 38 so far.
Much tighter from Marsh as pins Nawaz in her crease and only two runs come from the over.

"England have been more athletic in the field - you felt at times that the Pakistan girls didn't want the ball to come to them. I'm no expert on fielding, but having played with a lot of great fielders, it's about wanting that catch or that run-out."
Another productive over for the tourists as Hartley is dispatched for nine off her fourth over. Pakistan are building a bit of momentum in their innings.

"Sidra Nawaz has been put up the order, but she's playing nicely and has repaid the faith."
Laura Marsh introduced into the attack and finds Nawaz playing fluently. The Pakistan batter skips down the track and launches Marsh back over her head. The ball plugs a little just before the boundary but has enough in it to make it over the rope. These two have put 50 on for the fourth wicket.

"At the moment, Alex Hartley won't be prepared for playing in front of big crowds or the cameras, but hopefully the Super League will help prepare players to do that."
Nawaz is growing in confidence now and a slightly wide ball from Hartley is confidently squirted through gully for four.

"Sciver's been struggling with her line here to the left-hander. Maroof is their star batter, her record speaks for itself and I'm sure her best cricket is in front of her."
Must be something in the grass at Taunton. Pakistan's fielding was poor at times and although England have held three catches their ground fielding has been poor. Georgia Elwiss is the guilty party this time as she dives over a Maroof pull through mid-wicket. A glare from Sciver tells you all you need to know.
Here's Katherine Brunt's first wicket of the afternoon as Nain Abidi is caught behind.
Another tidy over from Hartley. Nawaz shows a bit more ambition as she sweeps a ball drifting into her for four.
Sidra Nawaz and Bismah Maroof both into double figures now and looking a bit more settled. This partnership will be crucial for Pakistan, even though the total probably looks beyond them.

"Alex Hartley is a wily bowler, she'll give it a bit of flight and likes to play about with her lengths. The way she runs up is a bit like Harbhajan Singh, he likes to bowl with two hands up."
Left-arm spinner Alex Hartley, on her England debut, introduced by skipper Heather Knight. A solid first over with some nice flighted deliveries as he quickly finds her rhythm.

"From what we've seen of Pakistan over the last few years, they've struggled to get to 250, even against weaker sides, so perhaps they'll have a lesser target in mind against a world-class bowling attack. You don't want them to go too hard at the start and be bowled out for 50, but at the same time you want to learn something."
A bowling change from England as Natalie Sciver comes into the attack. Pakistan's batters still have the shutters up, though, with just one run off the over. None of the tourists into double figures yet.
