The sun's out, Yasir's got his usual close-in fielders, wicketkeeper Sarfraz continues to shout encouragement.

The leg-spinner can't trouble England with his first five deliveries, then walks halfway down the pitch for a chat with his captain Misbah, aaaaand, he still can't trouble Ballance. As you were.

You've got to nullify Yasir on the front foot, get a nice stride in, then wait for a short ball. Playing the big drives with the short extra cover that's a risky shot. Unless you go over the top and try to force the issue that way.

He may know a fair bit about Lord's than anywhere else, but not sure how much Ballance knew about that edge off Wahab. Another one that was slightly wide of off stump but which just catches the bat and falls short of the cordon.

Phil Tufnell reckons James Vince's cover-driving strength proved to be his downfall here. It's hard to disagree. Watch for yourself.

Having your captain suspended for slow over-rates is kind of like having your rocket commander unable to fly because he didn't use the throttle quickly enough.

Yasir blasts through his over and concedes just one. Fun fact, Ballance has played five of his 16 Tests at Lord's. The only other place he's played more than one is Headingley.

  6. Could Cook be suspended?published at 13:53 British Summer Time 17 July 2016

If England are deemed to have a slow over-rate in this Test, skipper Alastair Cook could be punished with a suspension for the next Test at Old Trafford.

We asked our TMS scorer if this could happen - bearing in mind the minimum over rate expected is 15 per hour.

"It is difficult to know exactly what the official rate will be as the umpires take into account all sorts of interruptions etc, but England bowled effectively 100 overs in 7.5 hours in the first innings and 80 in 5.75 hours in the second innings.

"They get a two-minute deduction for each wicket and four for each drinks break. So, taking those into account and before they make any other adjustments, the over-rate will be about 14.7 for the match. So it is possible that they will find enough interruptions to get it over 15."

Younus' catch almost looked like those times a goalkeeper tries to turn his body away from a rasping volley shot. The ball jumped out from above waist height and nearly went away from him. But Younus turned well - those flamingo feet doing their job - and caught it at the second time of asking.

Wahab's got his tail up. An edge off new man Jonny Bairstow falls short of slip.

It's another example of a batsman's strength being his weakness. It dipped on him late, the reverse swing took it on to his outside edge when he thought it was a nice juicy half-volley.

Oh what a delivery from Wahab. He's been probing that wide line for a long time, and he gets his man. Swings away from Vince, who tries to fetch it with an airy sort of drive, but can only edge it to Younus at second slip. Nearly popped out of Younus' hands again - as one did earlier - but this time the Pakistan veteran holds on. He has a job holding on to his hat as well, with the whole team patting away on him.

Pakistan are excellent when they're picking wickets. When the pressure is on, and the ball is not jagging around then there's an issue.

Yasir continues from the Pavilion End for now. Keeps a slip and a short leg to Ballance, who pierces the off side field for four through cover. England have played Yasir well enough this innings.

The pitch is slow. As a bowler you've not got a lot to work with in terms of the length.

    Cheers Steph.

If you think a full-on Sunday lunch can't be eaten in seven minutes, think again. Quicker than Alastair Cook's second innings, I have emerged from my lunch break. How long England can last is another question altogether. Pakistan doing their best to have Monday off - who wouldn't in this professional age? - but James Vince and Gary Ballance poised to thwart that, and then some.

Yasir Shah to bowl the first over.

He has managed to keep a sporting team evolving which has never really happened in cricket.

I can't mention my biggest disaster but it involves an actor from a famous family dynasty.

I say it to my guests now if I ever ask you what you think of the Euro, we are struggling.

I must have asked him 300 questions and nothing came back. It dented my confidence. Then I went for Stephen Fry and only had to ask him three questions in 40 minutes.

Shane Warne would be number one of players I loved to commentate on. Apart from physically, he hasn't changed - he is still the same bloke. He was a brilliant bowler but also this pantomime dame figure.

Sachin Tendulkar, I loved watching him bat but I didn't necessarily get excited.

My favourite moment was that Steve Waugh 100.

I've got a great face for radio. Ian Botham says that. I couldn't do television.

Radio, you can bring people with you. you can have fun with people and tease them a little bit.

I'd hate to be Ian Botham, with people scurrying around you when you enter the gates. As a radio man you can just wander through.
