Duckett hits double century in 50-over gamepublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 25 July 2016
14:59 BST 25 July 2016Ben Duckett has hit a staggering 220 not out off 131 balls for England Lions in their one-day match against Sri Lanka A at Canterbury.
The Lions amassed a scarcely believable 425-1 from 50 overs, Duckett adding an unbroken 367 for the second wicket with Daniel Bell-Drummond, whose 171 off 139 deliveries pales in comparison.
Duckett hit 163 not out in the Lions' victory over Pakistan A at Cheltenham last week - and they look well placed to claim a fourth successive win in the triangular series, which also features Pakistan.

So, Pakistan's two best batsmen are now at the crease. Knock this pair over and England might get a day on the golf course tomorrow. Or a spot of fishing. Or the chance to cut the front lawn.
Moeen is worked for a couple of singles as Misbah and Shafiq look to be confident. They're on a tightrope though - if they are over-confident, they'll topple over.

That's such a shame from a Pakistan perspective. Younus would have loved to get a big score having not quite done the job for Pakistan thus far in the series. But nevermind that for now, Asad Shafiq opens his account with a guided four to third man, and a couple of balls later produces a textbook cut shot. Emphatic effort off his back foot. Maybe there's hope for another massive partnership yet.
And on that note, I shall hand you back to Marc Higginson while I go an enjoy the cupcake he lovingly provided to the desk today. Bye bye!

Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match SpecialIt's a very strange shot. You've got to have a bit more respect for Moeen Ali, who has this knack of getting wickets. If you're getting caught out on the boundary when you're trying to save the game...

14:46 BST 25 July 2016Younus c Hales b Moeen 28 (Pak 102-4)
Moeen does it again! Pakistan keep trying to take him on, and keep suffering as a result. Younus, the man who's held firm thus far, goes for the glory shot, a full-on golf swing of an effort, but can't quite get the contact required. It goes high but not far enough, as Hales takes an easy catch at long on.

14:45 BST 25 July 2016Lots of wheyyys followed by boos in the crowd. Surely the beer snakes have not started already? Perhaps they're trying to wake up the few that are slumbering in the crowd. Just the one from the Broad over as another inside edge off Misbah brings a single behind the wicket.

What's Younus thinking? Did he not watch his skipper's dismissal in the first innings? Younus tries to sweep Moeen Ali, but can't get contact and the ball trickles back to Alastair Cook at short fine leg. I was reminded of Misbah's sweep that took a top edge to Cook in the same position. Somewhat ironically, a sweep from Misbah to deep square leg brings up the Pakistan 100 at the end of the over.

Smoother than a Kishore Kumar love song, Misbah again gets on his knee and this time strokes Broad's fuller delivery through cover for four. Lovely shot, and straight out of the batsman's manual. If Pakistan had not been in trouble as a team, I'm sure Misbah would have been tempted to hold that pose for a bit longer. Long enough for an artist to paint a picture to go with said song. Broad starts his new spell by conceding five.

Six! That's more like the Misbah we know from Lord's. The captain strides forward to Moeen, gets down on one knee to a delivery that's on length and whacks it over mid-on for a huge six. Certainly went five or six rows back though it's sadly not caught in the crowd.

Moeen Ali's off the field for a bit. Nothing injury related, seemed like he was changing jumpers or something. Anyway, he sits out the rest of the over on the balcony and chats away with England's bowling coach Ottis Gibson. Is Saqlain Mushtaq on a break? Woakes bowls out another maiden.

Excellent over for England, who end the 58-run stand. Moeen tries the same tactic that brought him Hafeez's wicket on new man Misbah, but no surprise the Pakistan captain steadfastly defends. These two batsmen are probably Pakistan's best hope of taking this Test into a fifth day.

Former Pakistan captain on BBC Test Match SpecialIt's a very good dismissal. It wasn't a slog - Moeen forced Hafeez to play a defensive shot, there was a puff of dust and another promising innings comes to a sudden halt. It wasn't a thrown-away wicket, Hafeez was just undone by good spin-bowling.
