This is a good contest. There's plenty there for Moeen Ali, against a really good player of spin in Misbah.
England win with day to spare
Hosts level four-match series at 1-1
Woakes 3-41, Anderson 3-41, Moeen 3-88
Stokes to have scan on calf injury
Second Test, Old Trafford

Target 565
Gary Ballance ducks for cover when Misbah sweeps Moeen Ali and the ball thunders into the back of the cowering short leg fielder's neck.
He tumbles over in pain, but with the ball still in the air Jonny Bairstow yells 'catch' and tries to get round.
He can't. He rues his luck. Then helps his mate Gary from the turf.
Thanks for the concern, buddy.
Target 565
Alex Hales stands at short mid-off, almost in the batsman's eyeline as he tries to deal with James Anderson's probing outswingers. Just a single in the over.

Shafiq is a wonderful player, probably the best in their team, technically. What do you say if he gets out to that shot? There's more brains in a pork pie.
Even when England would be getting hammered in the nineties, there was always a shining light: Darren Gough, Graham Thorpe, Michael Vaughan...
Asad Shafiq is just that man for Pakistan now. He elegantly whips Moeen through midwicket for four, then smashes him through a similar region for the same result. Good player, this lad.
Although the second shot wasn't far from being plucked from the sky by a flying substitute fielder.

Never mind five sessions - England will bowl them out today. I've seen Pakistan so often and they do stupid things - Younus trying to slog it for six. Pakistan fans don't know what they're going to do - and they could fold just like that.
Target 565
Alastair Cook chucks the cherry to Jimmy Anderson. When the ball is blocked back to the Burnley Express, he does some smart keepie uppies. The fancy footwork brings some cheers from the sparse crowd.
This is the sixth highest Test target set in England. Here's the hall of fame/shame...
Misbah 27, Shafiq 16
Jonny Bairstow bellows his encouragement to Moeen Ali, almost down the ear of the batsman stood yards in front of him. He keeps quiet when the ball keeps low. Best to let the ball do the talking there. Pakistan tick along with another three singles.

You go round town, you see two massive billboards, all to do with Lancashire Lightning. I don't think there's enough advertising for Test cricket, not enough marketing.
Target 565
How many of you are following at work today? In the office? On the building site? Up some ladders?
What's the most elaborate way you have of making sure the boss doesn't catch you peeking on the cricket?
Misbah continues to look at ease, pushing three through the covers before it's reeled in by James Anderson.

England should give Pakistan a third innings to make it interesting!
John, Leeds
Pakistan have got more chance of knitting fog than saving this match!
Ryan S, Reading
Moeen 10-0-54-2
If Ben Stokes was ruled out, could that present an opportunity for Adil Rashid to return to the team? The next Test is at Edgbaston on 3 August, a venue where Yorkshire leg-spinner Rashid has taken more ODI wickets (6 at an average of 15) than anywhere else.
Moeen continues to twirl away and is forced for four off the back foot by Asad Shafiq. Quality shot.

It's really good bowling from Broad. Misbah's just moving his pads to make sure he's in line.
Misbah 21, Shafiq 10
Ben Stokes is going to have an MRI scan tomorrow to assess his injury. Hopefully it's nothing too serious, but there's every chance he has bowled his last delivery in this series.
Stuart Broad has dug deep in his locker and is pulling out all his tricks - an off-cutter taking the outside edge but dropping short of the slips thanks to Misbah's soft hands. Maiden over.

Where Jonny Bairstow is positioned, his right foot, is the perfect place for Moeen Ali to aim to.
Target 565
Misbah is sweeping Moeen nicely - he appears to have the bowler's measure. However, Moeen has got Misbah out three times in Test cricket. Only David Warner has been dismissed by the all-rounder more (four).

@k!f: Moeen ali has improved since last Test match. He's targeting the batsmen and playing mind games.
Russell Higginbotham: Watching the BBC updates in Vietnam and, even at this distance, I think I can safely say that, with that wicket, it's all over
52 overs remaining in the day
Ben Duckett has been one of the stars of the county season this summer - he'll soon be putting some pressure on Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler. If he isn't doing so already.
Stuart Broad is trying to sucker-punch Asad Shafiq for the second time in the match. He's hanging the ball out wide of off stump and inviting the drive. And hoping for the ball to fly to his packed off-side field.
