It must be quite disheartening to be a bowler, the way England's late middle order are playing. You get Jonny Bairstow out... and Chris Woakes comes in. The Warwickshire man has impressed with bat and ball this summer, and watchfully sees off the rest of Amir's over.

It's amazing how often it happens after a break. Straight after tea is when the batsmen are most vulnerable. Breaks for teas work for the bowling side. Bairstow got his foot stuck a bit, it's hardly forward. You have to get your feet moving.

Amir strikes! Bairstow drives at the left-armer, his feet are stuck in concrete and he gets an inside edge which keeper Sarfraz dives well to take, diving to his left.

Leg-spinner Yasir Shah returns at the other end, he's bowled seven overs today but he'll have a lot more to get through if Pakistan are to get anywhere near 90 overs. He rattles through a maiden over as Moeen tries to pull but can't connect cleanly and keeper Sarfraz has to wear a painful one on the hand down the leg side. At least he has gloves on.

  6. Lancs not expected to see Buttler again this seasonpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 11 August 2016

Lancashire coach Ashley Giles does not expect Jos Buttler to play for his county side again this season.

Buttler, who is centrally contracted by England, broke his thumb on 8 July and has been sidelined since then - but he is expected to return for England's one-day series against Pakistan which starts on 24 August.

"We will be lucky to see him in Lancashire colours again," Giles told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"We'd love to have him back as soon as possible, but I'm not sure that is going to be the case."

Mohammad Amir, who took the opening wicket today but has gone wicketless since then, resumes proceedings, and it's business as usual for Moeen Ali who busily adds a two and a single which means both batsmen have 55 to their name.

Thanks, Bibhash. It's time for the final session - with the over-rate proceeding at a snail's pace, we could be on for a marathon session here. With the weather having held off, they've got to bowl 40 overs in two-and-a-half hours, having bowled 50 in four so far...

Dave, you've just become one of many food heroes. Excellent picture.

England will look to put the cherry on top of their rescue cakes. 108 runs from the second session for the loss of just one wicket. Both teams out in the middle, Mohammad Amir again to start this session. Moeen to face.

And after all these pictures of cake and chips, I shall go and enjoy something sweet and savoury at the same time. Here's Mitch to take you through the next session. Alvida!

Matthew, I once ate 12 fairy cupcakes in one sitting. To date, I have never been more ashamed and proud at the same time. Speaking of landmarks, let's not forget Bairstow, who has been the other rock in this 90-run stand for the sixth wicket. Here he is working towards a half-century with a four.

Moeen Ali has shown us some lovely flowing drives today, even eliciting a musical comparison from yours truly. However, the left-hander has also ridden his luck a bit. He was dropped twice, and by the same fielder. If Azhar Ali was a song, I'd put him down as Metallica's St Anger right about then.

  15. I would coach Australia again - Muralitharanpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 11 August 2016

Sri Lanka legend Muttiah Muralitharan has defended his right to work with Australia, after being accused of being a "traitor" - and says he would do it again.

The retired off-spinner, who took a record 800 Test wickets, coached Australia's bowlers before the current Test series in his native Sri Lanka.

He told Stumped on the BBC World Service that he has no regrets and is considering an offer to work with the Aussies again in India next year.

So, a session that contained some dramatic moments at the start ends with England solidifying this recovery. Jonny Bairstow was nearly out, and in fact was caught at point, but Wahab was pulled up for a no-ball - not his first of the afternoon. However, there was a rattle to come for England as Gary Ballance was caught at third slip by Azhar Ali.

Batted, Mo! Hard to imagine this was the same Moeen who got less than 30 runs across the first two Tests. Moeen now has three consecutive half-centuries. He gets to his latest landmark with a double off Wahab, who then sticks to his bouncer routine but Bairstow's having none of it.

And it's tea as well after that over. Send me pictures of cake. And chips.

I'm not sure Iftikhar knows how he's going to get Moeen out here. Some of the wristy flicks Moeen plays remind me of David Gower.
