Sir Curtly Ambrose on TMS: "When you look at the West Indies T20 line-up, a lot of them don't play Test cricket - Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard... and Darren Sammy's been sacked as T20 captain. For me that's disappointing as he's captained them to two World T20 titles in three tournaments. There's a lot of politics in West Indies cricket."

It's not a straightforward pitch, but Younus has batted beautifully, kept the good balls away and had good help from the tail-enders. I think Yasir Shah could have a good second innings with the ball.

Ant: What a grand, audacious knock that was from Younus Khan. Most thought he was done, I thought he was done, he proved us all wrong.

Alison Miller: I think a win for Pakistan would be a fitting end to the series.

Younus' score is the sixth highest for Pakistan against England in Tests.

Younus Khan converted his overnight 101 into a wonderful 218 to help Pakistan - 340-6 overnight - post 542 and earn a first-innings lead of 214 over England.

  7. West Indies-India updatepublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

West Indies have been set 346 (from a minimum of 87 overs) to beat India in St Lucia, after the tourists declared at 217-7.

If India win this Test and the final Test in Trinidad, they will go to number one in the rankings. But if West Indies can draw or win one of those games, it opens it up for England or Pakistan to take top spot (or Australia to retain it).

Tony: Cook must have opted to bat to avoid a fourth innings of batting to save the game. Now they'll have to do it in the third innings.

Colin Troth: I think we ought to delete Lord's and the Oval venues from future Test series they don't suit us...

The last time England conceded a first-innings deficit of 200-plus was against Australia at The Oval last year.

That was fantastic application from Pakistan. They said 'let's wear England down', and you've got to take your hats off to Younus Khan. It was just one of those innings that was tailor-made for this situation.

That was tough going for England. To say the least. Let's have some tea.

Sohail c Broad b Finn 2 (Pak 542 all out)

And that's your lot. Finn favours a fuller approach, Sohail drives and Broad makes ground to his left at shortish mid-on to take the catch. Pakistan 542 all out - that's a lead of 214.

As they did at Edgbaston, England have decided that a long stop is the way to get this last wicket. Alex Hales, arms folded, stands on the boundary almost directly behind wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow. And what do you know...? Sohail slashes a cut over first slip and straight to Hales on the second bounce. Hannibal from the A-Team would have been proud of that plan had it come together.

You can't fail to notice the difference in the Pakistan tail today. Look at Wahab - it only says four on the scorecard but it was a very important innings.

This is Amir's highest Test score, beating the unbeaten 30 he made against Australia at Hobart in 2010. The tailender, as is his wont, collects a single off Anderson before Sohail gets off the mark with a pull to deep square-leg for one.

Hugh Grant: The tail (Yasir, Sarfraz, Amir) seem to have little trouble with these bowlers. Now imagine Steve Smith and David Warner!

Amir underlines his talent - and confidence - with the bat by driving Root through cover for four then cutting for two and one. Tea has been delayed as England chase the final Pakistan wicket. Can they oblige?

Watching that wicket again, it was a slower ball which did for Younus and earned Anderson his first wicket of the innings. Sohail Khan survives the final five balls of the over. Will Amir cut loose now? What's that? He already has?
